My Winter staples

What on earth could I possibly blog about after my last post? Nothing could top it and I’ve been wracking my brain to write about something decent…. nope, nothing decent comes to mind, so here I am blabbering on about nothing really…

So The Block is back! What do you think? I know who gets through, so I am sort of skimming past this week. I might do some blogging down the track about the rooms?? What do you think?

Anyway, we went to The Block houses on Monday and here is a photo with Dan and Dani – the first contestants through. They are pumped! I don’t envy them though…. haha… they have NO idea what they’re in for!

I saw this photo and though I could mention some of my new Winter staples for my wardrobe…

I’ve been buying these patterned bat-wing and scooped-back tops to wear with skinny jeans. The one in the photo is in a pink leopard print from Ally Fashion. My Mum took one look at me and said “Ooooo I love this top!” She’s a leopard print fan.

I also bought a pile of similar ones from Cotton On. A black, a blue and black stripe, and a light coloured leopard print. They are as a cheap as chips. My husband was with me and said, “if you buy 1 more thing in the leopard print, I will not be seen with you….” C’mon darl! Where is the love? You know I love it! I can’t can’t help it!

Anyway, I’m rotating these tops with my black skinny G-Star Jeans (style is Cody Skinny) and my wet-look Country Road Jeggings.

Hope you all have a good day. We’re still on school holidays here. Lord give me strength.

Remember I have this Mother’s Day giveaway and vote for me here and you could win $5,000.

Thank you for all the love in the last few days. You don’t know how much it means. I really appreciate it. Now I just need to turn this Logie in to some sort of job! 😉

Must be taking myself to Cotton On today then.
I am laughing at myself today that I actually did the crazy groupie thing on Shelly Craft yesterday.
I really wonder what they must think when people do that to them

Believe it or not, I don’t own a single thing in leopard print (oh, I lie…I do have some ahem “sleepwear”) lol

Im liking The Block – I would never be able to do what they do or what you did under those time pressure restrictions!

I think you should surprise hubby next time you’re going out and walk out in a leopard print top, pants and shoes combo with a matching headband and say……ready to go? ;o)
Maybe mix it up with a zebra print clutch if you’re feeling dangerous!!!
    Have a great day……

My 8 year old daughter is an animal print freak! She is like a little mini you. Everything has to be leopard print and she loves a bit of zebra print too. I own nothing. Zip, zippo, zero. I feel I may have to rectify that. But am concerned about doing the mother/daughter animal print thing. Not a good look.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this series. I did love the kids room last night. Seriously laughed at the swing though. Clearly they don’t have kids! I could just see my girls in the middle of a raging blue and one pushing the swing full pelt into the other ones face. Or it being swung into the wall and big chunks coming out of the plaster. And I’m sorry, but hanging ropes anywhere just freak me out, not the least in a kids rooms! That’s why you can’t even have a blind cord swinging and not fastened down.
I’ll hand you back your blog now. I seem to be taking over. Have a great day x

Oh you’ve saved my winter wardrobe! Baby #4 is 1 in May and so soon I get to dress like a normal person!!! What other style of jean would go with those shirts? A straight leg? My pear shape and my baby belly won’t let me do a skinny jean this season.

Haha, if I ever buy anything leopard print, my husband has permission to shoot me 😉

I am loving watching the Block this week, I don’t think I saw last year’s series right from the start so this time I am making sure I do. What I have been blown away by is how clueless these contestants seem – I mean, never painted a room before? How the heck are they going to renovate a whole house!? Time management stills – sitting down having a beer on the first day? I suppose it makes juicy tv though, lol!

I totally agree with the comment from Alyce re. leopard print 😉

Katrina, I think the dress your wore is absolutely beautiful…. and your choice of hairstyle just gorgeous. I honestly think you should win ‘best dressed’. Congratulations on winning the Logie. Cheers, Colleen

Thank you somuch !! I’m pregnant with my 3rd (after a 10 yr gap so yes I am insane) and needed something to get me thru the next few months so I went to Cotton On today and got myself 2 new batwing tops – I love them and they hide my belly !!

    Hi Katrina

Congrats on your logie win, very well deserved. I have been following the block this week and unfortunately I have been less than excited with the rooms the contestants are creating. I cannot believe they waste so much time shopping!! Just get it together people. I guess it shows what pressure does to people. Was hopeful last night when the brothers got through at least they look like they know what they are doing. My son Harry said no one compares to you and your singing. He is a huge fan of your zest for life. We will miss you this series . Kindest Regards Shell – A Darlings Nest

Thanks Shell! They really don’t shop that much. Really they don’t. It’s a tv show – therefore there is editing. 🙂
