Spring and Summer is all about outdoor living. For me, it’s the best time of the year. If you’re thinking of updating your outdoor space over the Christmas break, or you’re building a new home, or adding a pool, then today I have some decking ideas which you may want to incorporate in to your space.
I think you can’t go wrong with the mixture of pavers, decking and grassed areas. These 3 things together make a great outdoor area. It’s all about layering, placement and creating zoned areas. Your backyard doesn’t need to be just concrete and grass.
Come and check out these ideas…

IDEAS
- A simple verandah deck looks great and will wear well over the years.
- Add an area of decking to your front entry for added colour and texture.
- Put some decking around your pool. You don’t need to deck the entire area, but a zoned space for chairs/umbrella would look good.
- Decking comes in lots of colours. Dark brown, grey, light beige. It depends on your preference.
- Decking isn’t hard to look after. If it’s installed correctly it won’t rot (like a lot of people beleive it will).
- There’s also some composite decking products on the market which look good too.
