So we made it! Whoop whoop! AMAZING!
I was going to ask, what do you think, but I have seen the Facebook pages and have received hundreds of love-mail, so I don’t need to ask that now.
I think I spent half of the episode cringing and the other half laughing so hard at myself. Is that what I look like on tele? I’ve got to get used to it, because I am about to see myself on the tele 5 nights a week for 8 more weeks! Warts and all people… you’ll see me laugh, be immature, be the sensible mother caring for everyone, the dumb blonde, the know-all, the bitch, the whinger and the emotional wreck. Nothing has been hidden. It’s a rollercoaster!
Back to the challenge…No doubt some of you will feel it necessary to say “Oh, I can’t believe with $5000 you only did that!” or “24 hours, that’s heaps of time, where were your time management skills?” You have no idea how excruciatingly hard that was!
Firstly, Amie and I had never done a project like this before as a team. Secondly, we have hardly ever been to Melbourne before. Thirdly, we did not have the physical strength of a man. So we thought we’d have buckley’s of getting through! But when we realised we were up against the twins, I must admit I thought we’d ace them design wise, but they had the personality for tv!
We were thrown in. Scotty says go and he meant GO! No one helped us decide on shops, places to go or gave us directions. Why did we all use IKEA? Because it was the only place most of us knew that would have rugs, cushions, prints, vases, curtains…the one-stop-shop for us NSW folk.
We have heaps of experience in decorating and therefore we don’t like to play it safe. Nothing is boring, run-of-the-mill or stereotypical for us. We mix and match, use colour, mix styles, make up our own rules and generally like to spice things up. While we know our room was not finished (delete that awful curtain idea! LOL), we still think it was the better room!
Teal is in. Cowhide is in. Metal is in. Clocks are in.
Brown is not.
Do you read Real Living Magazine? We do!
Get ready for the ride…Amie and I fumble, excel, create and laugh at ourselves all the way through our time on The Block. We are who we are. We were chosen for who we are.
We are excited!
