Hi there! How are things with you?
I have been busy with some little projects around the house, but nothing is quite finished yet, so today I thought I’d share some inspiration and ask you a couple of questions…
I have been wanting a round accent table to go in the corner of a room in my new house, and I finally found one last week (well, I found 2, and we chopped the top off one and joined it to the other because it wasn’t quite right). Then over the weekend I decided to paint it a blue colour and I hated it, so now I am in the process of painting it white. BUT, I really wanted it to be a raw, natural look. However, my husband said “it’s shitty old pine, Treens, so you have to paint it white.” So, my question to you is: how do you make old pine look raw and distressed? Do I stain it? Wax it? As you can see, I am a master at painting things, not taking it back to that raw look… And if I can make it look good, then my husband will truly be impressed 🙂
Here are my inspiration photos (all found on this Pinterest board)….
I also have this urge to fill all the walls in my home, but then I get on Pinterest and most of my favourite images are from homes that let the furniture do the talking, not the walls. What do you think about that? Do you fill the walls, or would you rather keep them mostly (I do have some frames though!) clean and fresh?
When I sort out this round table, I promise I will show you! Actually I have lots to show you 🙂 Last night we made a lamp base out of a huge glass vase – now that was easy and fun!
Have a great day. X
