If you’re on the hunt for a plant to put on your coffee table then today I have a few ideas for you. I’ve tried just about every indoor plant there is haha! I am quite addicted. They are such a cheap styling idea and they add an instant lift to any corner of your home. Even if you’re a typical black thumb I’m sure you’ll be able to keep at least one of these plants alive. I’d suggest you go for the Zanzibar Gem as my top pick.

Moss
I’ve decided to see if I can keep moss alive in a pot on my table. It’s low maintenance, is supposed to purify the air and can tolerate low water. Plus you should be able to break clumps off and re-pot. In this photo below I have some moss, a jade plant and a zanzibar gem (more on those below).
Cactus
A cactus makes a perfect statement for a coffee table vignette. All you need is 2 types of pots (large and small) and a few different cacti. Easy! If you love monochrome styling, then this type of cluster would bring just a little bit of colour and texture in to your home.

Jade
They are considered a “lucky plant” or “money tree”. You can’t say no to that! The money tree is used as a Feng Shui cure to attract the energy of wealth and prosperity. The money tree plant is supposed to produce positive vibrations that will bring prosperity to the owner of the house or business. It is best placed at the front door and at the back door. I have every entry and exit spot covered in my house haha! I’ve just added one to my coffee table too in a terracotta pot.
Zanzibar Gem
You know I am a big fan of these. They will practically grow in the dark and need minimal water. Perfect to add a bit of height to your coffee table vignette. You can split them up to create new pots.
Baby Rubber Plant
I am on a mission to find one of these. They look so cute! They like filtered light and just light watering, but would be a perfect coffee table centerpiece.

Succulents
Succulents are low care but they do like a bit of sunlight. I have masses of succulents at my house and I do know they don’t like it if they haven’t seen the sun in a while. So if your coffee table is in a bright area then they would be perfect. There is a huge variety of styles and colours to choose from when you’re at the nursery and even better – you can grown them yourself!

Maidenhair Fern
These look fantastic with their hairy leaves. They do like some sunlight and they are pretty thirsty so make sure they are well watered.

Spider Plant
The leaves boast a vibrant green and white stripe. Once the plant grows long stems with smaller spider plant clumps at the end, you can break off those off and plant them in a new pot. They are easy to grow and don’t require much care.
