I don’t ever get tired of looking at home offices. They are my favourite. Some people are so darn clever! I have a home office which is currently getting a little spruce up. Yesterday we put in a shaftless skylight and it’s in a bit of a mess. I have some new shelves to put up and some new desk chairs to add. Can’t wait to get the room sorted. Currently I have a sheet covering most of the bench space and just this computer is poking out haha.

Come and take a look at a few simple ideas I grabbed from Pinterest…

Tips for the perfect home office

  1. Lamps – not only do they look great, but a lot of overhead lighting just won’t cut it if you’re working long hours from home.
  2. Storage – you may have to get creative here if you don’t have any built-in storage. Think bookcase, or drawers somewhere. You need places to put your paper, folders, files and all the ugly junk.
  3. Chairs – I’ve had some very uncomfortable chairs over the years (just because they look good!). And they just don’t cut it. I’m getting too old for a crappy chair haha. I spend a lot of hours working from home, but it is very hard to find a cool yet comfy office chair. There has to be a niche for that! I am currently looking at a couple of new ergonomic ones from Officeworks.
  4. Plants – greenery makes every room look good doesn’t it? I also use them for good feng shui. I wrote a post here on how to feng shui your home office.
  5. Hide the ugly cords – ah yes, what a pain looking at the cords! You can sneakily hide those away so no one can see. I wrote a post on how to hide your office cords.

Rightio, back to my own home office – it’s time to sort it out! Have a great day. ♥ KC.

There are some great ideas here. Your home office was pretty perfect before so I cannot wait to see what you are doing to it now.
