Floor Plan Friday: Good use of space

plan

Hi! I found this plan last week – you might like this one. It’s called the Monterey Nouveau Q1 from here. You can also click on the image to enlarge it.

I know it’s similar to a lot of other narrow houses, but I did think it was a good use of space. I loved the dressing room, the study and the butler’s pantry. I also liked the living room on the back with the alfresco room sitting against it. I wasn’t so sure about the placement of the laundry though. What do you think?

Here’s a heap of other floor plans if you wanted to see some others I like.

Have a great day! X

Kitchen is in a terrible place!

golly how times change – ‘butler’s pantry” and “theatre” – were they even a thing, unless you owned a castle on an estate and were filthy rich with myriad servants??

Love the floor plan but would move the main bedroom to back of the house, off the patio. Love butlers kitchens.

I love the family home floor plan Katrina! I can say that it is the perfect floor plan for a growing family. I do hope that I can execute the same. But as of now I am living in a condo unit.

Wouldn’t it be better if the laundry was directly behind the garage and the 2 living rooms back to back

      Yep that would work!

I love practical, and I would love to see a space to put a coat or drop a brief case or a knap sack when you walk in from the garage. The laundry room between two living spaces? Just makes no sense. I like a kitchen walk thru pantry closer to the entry when carrying in groceries.
This needs re working to suit my family but I do love all the space available on this plan.
