Brought to you by Office 365 #workwonders.
Hi there! I’ve been busily making over my 3rd boys bedroom. That’s been a challenge to try and come up with 3 looks I am happy with. But I’ve done it!
This time I’ve been working with Microsoft’s Office 365 to help me make all my online blogging and DIY projects easier. They’ve challenged me to complete a style project using my new Surface Pro 3. Have you seen these new devices? Blow. your. mind. They are a laptop/tablet in one. But more than that, I’ve been able to do a budget, a mood board, video and blog all using Office 365’s easy applications. Time saver!
I wanted to shop online for everything and created a mood board to get me started. You don’t need Photoshop or anything special to create a mood board. Just save all the images and then open a Microsoft Word document and insert all the photos.
I also needed to stick to a budget of roughly $500, so I pulled up the Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet saved it all…
Now that I had my plan sorted and I knew what I could get within my budget I started ordering. Mr Postman and I have become best friends 🙂
I filmed myself applying the wall stickers (they are removable and so easy to put up). I used Windows Live Mover Maker to edit, crop, speed up and put sound to my mini movie. Have you used this program before? It’s awesome!
Click the video below. It only goes for about 30 seconds.
And here is the finished bedroom!
I’m rapt. It’s come up so well and I think it looks so much better in real life.
I will break it down for you here so you can see what I bought and where to buy these goodies…
- Quilt cover
- Sheet set
- Mr Beaker Lamp
- Triangle Wall Stickers
- Lightening Bolt
- Digital Wall Prints (print these out yourself. I bought 2 and made 2) –
There you! Another bedroom done! Here are number 1 and number 2 makeovers. Hopefully you’ll feel inspired from a combination of them.

Hi, Please help! I have just moved into my new home and I want to create a “beautiful room” somewhere where I can go to escape from everything and everybody. My room needs to be comfortable, classy and especially pretty. Could you please advise me where I can get some inspiration and styling ideas to make my dream room a reality. Any help from anyone greatly appreciated
