There are plenty of do’s and don’ts when hitting the sack to get a good night’s sleep.
Sleeping on a silk pillowcase is very much a do, yet not many people realise the benefits of laying their head on this smooth surface.
If you’re not convinced on whether to invest in a silk pillowcase, these 5 benefits may sway you!
Be gone bad hair days
Wouldn’t it be great to wake up with a great hair day everyday? Well you can with a silk pillowcase.
Less frizz and minimal tangles are what you will wake up with when you sleep on a silk pillowcase. The satin surface prevents your hair becoming a tangled mess if you toss and turn throughout the night. Hair strands glide along the surface making it nearly impossible to wake up with a birds nest!
In fact it’s recommended, if you want to extend your salon-styled blow dry, to sleep on a silk pillowcase!
See ya later wrinkles
It can be annoying to wake up in the morning with a crease line right in the middle of your cheek! It’s a face wrinkle that could have been avoided if you slept on a silk pillowcase.
Again, the smooth surface of the silk will not only prevent a bad hair day, it will keep your complexion smooth the following day. No need to worry about sleeping on your side with a silk pillowcase. Less friction means minimal pulling and creasing of the skin.
Skin hydration all year round
Sleeping on a cotton pillowcase can absorb moisture from the skin which can result in a dry complexion. A silk pillowcase is less porous and will leave hydration where it belongs – in your skin.
Less brittle hair
Hair also has its own moisture properties to prevent it from becoming brittle and breaking. If you want to protect your gorgeous locks, a silk pillowcase will ensure you hair is not zapped from its natural oils.
If you suffer from a dry scalp, it is recommended you sleep on a silk pillowcase to prevent further dehydration from your scalp and less dandruff.
Luxurious to see and touch
The bedroom is a retreat from the outside world and is where we go to relax and refresh for the next day. Adding silk pillowcases to your bed offers texture and colour when layering your cushions on the bed.
Updating your bedroom linen is as good as a holiday! Those holiday endorphins can elevate your mood and your wellbeing. Who doesn’t want some of that?!
It feels like absolute luxury sleeping on a silk pillowcase. You will find it hard to go back to cotton once you’ve slept on silk. But you won’t know until you try it yourself.
