So we made it! Whoop whoop! AMAZING!
I was going to ask, what do you think, but I have seen the Facebook pages and have received hundreds of love-mail, so I don’t need to ask that now.
I think I spent half of the episode cringing and the other half laughing so hard at myself. Is that what I look like on tele? I’ve got to get used to it, because I am about to see myself on the tele 5 nights a week for 8 more weeks! Warts and all people… you’ll see me laugh, be immature, be the sensible mother caring for everyone, the dumb blonde, the know-all, the bitch, the whinger and the emotional wreck. Nothing has been hidden. It’s a rollercoaster!
Back to the challenge…No doubt some of you will feel it necessary to say “Oh, I can’t believe with $5000 you only did that!” or “24 hours, that’s heaps of time, where were your time management skills?” You have no idea how excruciatingly hard that was!
Firstly, Amie and I had never done a project like this before as a team. Secondly, we have hardly ever been to Melbourne before. Thirdly, we did not have the physical strength of a man. So we thought we’d have buckley’s of getting through! But when we realised we were up against the twins, I must admit I thought we’d ace them design wise, but they had the personality for tv!
We were thrown in. Scotty says go and he meant GO! No one helped us decide on shops, places to go or gave us directions. Why did we all use IKEA? Because it was the only place most of us knew that would have rugs, cushions, prints, vases, curtains…the one-stop-shop for us NSW folk.
We have heaps of experience in decorating and therefore we don’t like to play it safe. Nothing is boring, run-of-the-mill or stereotypical for us. We mix and match, use colour, mix styles, make up our own rules and generally like to spice things up. While we know our room was not finished (delete that awful curtain idea! LOL), we still think it was the better room!
Teal is in. Cowhide is in. Metal is in. Clocks are in.
Brown is not.
Do you read Real Living Magazine? We do!
Get ready for the ride…Amie and I fumble, excel, create and laugh at ourselves all the way through our time on The Block. We are who we are. We were chosen for who we are.
We are excited!

well done guys! your room was an easy favourite for me. I'm a big fan of coloured couches – and there were more than enough bland ones this week already! I'll cross my fingers for you both over the next few weeks!
anjwritesabout
I just loved your room (though in reality, yes, would probably have to buy a telly to placate the kiddos). You didn't play it safe and it turned out funky, unique and beautifully quirky. Bring it on, girls!! 🙂
Kirsten
Congrats on getting through! Your room was my fave of all the rooms this week. Loved the couch and how you placed it…everything about your room was so creative…can't wait to see what you do with the actual house that you get!!
Ange
Congratulations girls, it was well deserved. Whilst the other room may have had more mass-appeal it didn't have the imagination and design pizzaz that yours had. Despite the no-TV I would be glad to have that as my reading room!
KL
I really LOVED the style and eclectic vibe you used. You deserved your win! x KL
mandy
Fantastic girls, will be watching you all the way!
MaidInAustralia
I loved your room and they way you both came across – fun, honest and smart. Now … when are you going to get around to making over another blog for me? (Kidding…)

You guys definitely nailed it with your choices. I thought it was great.
It definitely looked like hard work. I just can't imagine being thrown into another city to renovate a place where you are definitely out of your comfort zone.
I have my fingers crossed for you both. xx
Annie @ My White Homestead

Phew….I can breathe out now.
Can you believe last night dear friends dropped in for an impromptu meal and I wasn't able to watch!
I can't wait to catch up and see all of the shennanigans I know you'll get up to.
The houses look horrific at the start so there's going to be lots and lots of fun seeing the transformations happen.
Great job….I'm off to track down the show and have a giggle as I watch knowing that you made it in.
xx F

Oh I loved how you girls were on TV such down to earth attitudes and your style! Wow. cant wait to see what you do with the derelict dwelling we got a sneak peek of last night!
The Moerks
I loved every second of it. Your room was fun and looked well put together. The twins room was lovely but had a bit of a showroom feel to it. I loved the singing and the eye rolling and looks between the two of you. I think you will be the characters of the show! Can't wait to see how it all pans out.
Stripes by the Seaside..
I actually burst into tears at the end of your episode I was that stressed watching everything you went through and I wanted you girls to get through so badly! I laughed alot and could totally relate and i loved the room. yes very Real Living or Inside Out and I loved how you said you read lot of mags and know whats hot (or something to that effect). You are my kinda people that is for sure !! Mel xxx

I'm so thrilled for you! I can't wait to see what you do with what looks like a rather derelict house. It's going to be great tv me thinks!

Loved it! Absolutely loved it!
I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to do all that in an unfamiliar area under that kind of pressure. I think I was actually holding my breath towards the end when you only had minutes before time up!
Congratulations.

Well done K&A. I loved, loved, loved the sofa. Loved the rug. Loved the clocks – I need to do that so I know the time when my hubby is travelling. You deserved the win. You 2 definitely have the personalities for TV. Anyone who knows you Katrina knows what an hilarious chick you are lol.
Stripes by the Seaside I was totally stressed too. At 6.55pm I broke out in hives from head to toe with the stress. I spent the show biting my nails (okay sucking them because acrylic nails are very hard to bite lol), curled up, drinking wine to calm the nerves. I did a victory lap around the coffee table at the end of the show.
OMGosh I don't think I can take another 8 weeks of this Katrina – lol.
Good luck for the rest of the show girls. I am sure you will do very well <3
