DAY 27 of my reno tips ➡️ Tiling Here are fi DAY 27 of my reno tips ➡️ Tiling

Here are five common errors to steer clear of:
1. Not sticking to an overall theme: Choose a consistent style or theme for your bathroom and let it guide your tiling decisions. Tiles play a crucial role in the visual appeal of the space, so select them wisely as they are not easily changed.
2. Not buying enough tiles: Always order 15% more tiles than you actually need. This accounts for cutting, breakages, and waste. It is better to have extra tiles that can be stored for future replacements rather than running out of tiles mid-project.
3. Using too many feature tiles: Opt for a single feature tile in the bathroom, either on the floor or on a wall. If you choose two, ensure the second feature tile is smaller or limited to specific areas like niches or splash backs. Too many feature tiles can create a cluttered and visually overwhelming space.
4. Underestimating tile size: Consider the overall space and layout of your bathroom before choosing tile sizes. Large tiles may not work well in corners or narrow areas, resulting in odd cuts and an unbalanced appearance. Seek recommendations from your tiler or supplier to find the right tile size for your specific space.
5. Not considering ongoing maintenance and cleaning: Think about the maintenance requirements of the tiled surfaces. More grout lines mean more areas prone to mould and mildew. Grout is porous and requires regular cleaning to prevent discoloration from mould growth. If you prefer low-maintenance options, choose tiles with minimal grout lines. Reserve smaller tiles for niche areas and use larger tiles for larger surface areas to strike a balance.

But recently I was sent this handy value pack of 3M Command Hooks and decided to use those to keep the plant tamed. It loves the sun here, so it keeps growing.

STEPS >>
🍃 Clean the surface properly first. A small amount of rubbing alcohol works best.
🍃 Remove the black liner and press, then remove the red liner and press the hook firmly on for 30 seconds.
🍃 Wait an hour before use.
🍃 Make sure you follow the instructions on the backside of the package.

DAY 25 of my reno tips ➡️ Looking for White Pa DAY 25 of my reno tips ➡️ Looking for White Paint?

I’ve got some tips for you!

The first thing you will need to decide on is whether you’re after a COOL white or a WARM white. Once you decide which is your preference you can start to limit your choices.

• COOL WHITE
Cool whites are colours that have a blue, grey or green undertone. Cool colours work well in more modern homes. Usually rooms which are filled in natural light can benefit from a cool white. They offer a crisp, sleek and elegant look.
- Crisp White Taubmans (my pick)
- Lexicon Dulux
- Vivid White Dulux
- Manhattan Snow Wattyl

* WARM WHITES
Warm whites are colours with yellow, red and brown undertones. They are cosy and inviting more suited to traditional styling.
- Whisper White Dulux
- Linen White Wattyl
- Antique White USA Dulux
- Natural White Dulux (my pick)

Tell me what your favourite white is?

(Also DM me the word ‘download’ for a free guide on what paint goes where!)
