Operation Backpack

Today my kids and I are launching a program in The Wagga Wagga Marketplace, in conjunction with St Vincent de Paul, called Operation Backpack. The program is a back-to-school initiative to ensure families in need receive everything necessary for their children to start school.

Here is my media quote:

“As a mum of two school children and one about to start in January, I know how expensive it can get each summer getting everything they need for school. This is such a worthwhile cause which is easy to get behind as all it takes is adding something little like a ruler, pack of pencils or a glue stick to your shopping yet it will make such a big difference to child who can’t afford those,” Katrina said.

So, if you’re in Wagga, come down to The Marketplace at 11am where you’ll get to see me launch the program, say a few words and have a chat. The newspaper and tv will be there too.

My boys are excited!

PS. We found a house to rent – it’s the same house we rented last time we built in 2008-2009. What are the odds of that hey??
