I won a freaking Logie!

Well, WE won a Logie, but it sounds more amazing when I say I won a Logie – and why not? Ha!

What a crazy few days I’ve had! But I want to start with a huge thank you to Helen Manuell who made our gorgeous dresses. I have never felt so special in all my life.

I have a thousand photos from the day/night. I know this post will be photo heavy!

Here is my red carpet fun! My eyes were darting all over. I told Josh and Jenna I could not talk to them because I couldn’t concentrate on a thing they were saying. There was waaaaay too much to look at! I was supposed to be looking all gracious, but I spent most of the time squealing and pointing. The Block’s producer Julian Cress was following me with his camera because I was entertaining him with my antics. Josh said “this is so much more enjoyable with you Katrina because you keep getting hysterical and it’s funny!” Waz kept asking me if I needed a paper bag.

This is what happened when I spotted Delta Goodrem!

I have never seen Rod move so fast. He turned around to see me with Delta and he bolted to be in that shot!

The girls.

The view from the top at the very end of the red carpet before we went into the Palladium.

The table.

The event card!

Jen Hawkins. Do I look slightly excited? Ummm and how tall is she? She’s talking with Claire from Woman’s Day and Jen looks like a giant! Well she is a giant! And gorgeous – like really really gorgeous.

One Direction!

So I was squeezing through some chairs and rubbed my bum against someone… I turned and apologised and realised it was One Direction. I then grabbed my camera and managed to get this (below). It wasn’t easy! There was security everywhere. There were big guys crouching on the ground all around them and I had to ask them could I take this. It was only that Zayn (I had to google to find out what this little fella’s name was!) said to his security that he was ok to take this shot. Please don’t hate me all you young girls. And yes, they are adorable and so cute and fresh!

There they are performing. They were good too.

This is me dancing to One Direction.

Here we are! You’ll have to buy TV Week next week to see our shots all together. I can’t believe we won.

Who would have thought hey. 12 months ago my life was totally different. I am so grateful.

PS. We’re not knuckle-heads and I know there are new contestants now and I can’t wait to see them in action, but it was the 8 contestants from 2011 who have set the bar. Life is what you make it. Everyone starts with nothing…

I had a ball and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Hi Katrina…I had to comment today…have been looking at the heraldsun sight here in U.K. to catch up on the Logies…to see the gowns…and there was some thrills and spills…as per usual…I thought you and Amie looked gorgeous…very stylish…everything was tucked in and tidy!! In fact I think you tboth sported two of the best dresses on the red carpet. I’m currently sitting in front of The Block 2011…yes it’s finally on t.v. in U.K. and it’s episode 36…you are all wandering around inside the maze…happy memories??? Even though I followed on the internet last year…it is much better to see it on t.v…even if I do know the outcome. Congratulations. Robx

Wow, you looked so amazing, I just loved your dress. So glad you had a great night and congratulations on the win. It was a shame you were standing behind Scott on the stage during the speech!

I didn’t end up finding out which celebrity won the Best Dressed competition Channel 9 was running. Do you know who won? I was texting like mad for Giaan Rooney since it was another of Helen’s dresses. You looked great!

WOW its the second best thing to being there, looking at those photos, i saw Geoff Janz (one of the first celebrity chefs of the 90’s if u dont know him haha) in sydney airport once and i squealed at him as my friend wanted to find a hole to disappear into with the embarrassment of my antics, i go gaga when i see celebs but i resisted every urge when i saw John Butler having ‘family time’ a few years ago (before he sold out haha). to say i live in hicksville (rural SA) i have a few celeb stories but no where near as many as you have now lol. i wanted to ask if u noticed anyone doing it to you haha that would be a flipout! You are so right about the 8 2011 guys making it so good, i dont see it as much as the block won but you guys because the whole country fell in love with you guys (well most of you haha), What did you think of Tania’s dress (honestly) im thinking it mustve looked better in person cos the pics arent doing her justice. All of ur outfits were gorgeous!! Well done, so happy for you!!

Both you and Amie looked STUNNING !!! It is lovely to see that you and the rest of The Block contestants seem to have a genuine affection for one another. That wasn’t necessarily portrayed on TV so much but then again I guess that doesn’t make good TV. How could any of the others not love you two … especially when you organised that pampering session at the spa … you would have been my best friends forever after that. Gladd you had a wonderful night … what special memories to share with your sis when you are old and grey. Thanks for sharing.

Well done lovely. How very exciting just to win. But what a fantastic and exciting night for you. And you looked beautiful. You gave Jen a run for her money.
Let’s hope the next 12 months is just as wonderful for you:)

Congratulations! I popped by from A-M’s blog and wanted to say how happy I am for you on your well deserved honor! I have to admit that as an uninformed American I had to look up what a Logie was…eek! All the best to you, and you are so right…life truly is what you make of it!

    Congratulations, Katrina!
Watching the Block all the way from the Netherlands, I though you and Amie were so real, so relatable and the courage and effort you had put in while away from your kids – deserving all the awards!
I can only hope Block 2012 is lucky enough to have some people as worth rooting for as you and your sister were in 2011!

My husband doesn’t watch much TV, however last night he saw me watching The Block and he said “Why are you watching that? You won’t like it without those two girls in it” Ha Ha
    Congratulations xT
