Well, WE won a Logie, but it sounds more amazing when I say I won a Logie – and why not? Ha!

What a crazy few days I’ve had! But I want to start with a huge thank you to Helen Manuell who made our gorgeous dresses. I have never felt so special in all my life.

I have a thousand photos from the day/night. I know this post will be photo heavy!

Here is my red carpet fun! My eyes were darting all over. I told Josh and Jenna I could not talk to them because I couldn’t concentrate on a thing they were saying. There was waaaaay too much to look at! I was supposed to be looking all gracious, but I spent most of the time squealing and pointing. The Block’s producer Julian Cress was following me with his camera because I was entertaining him with my antics. Josh said “this is so much more enjoyable with you Katrina because you keep getting hysterical and it’s funny!” Waz kept asking me if I needed a paper bag.

This is what happened when I spotted Delta Goodrem!

I have never seen Rod move so fast. He turned around to see me with Delta and he bolted to be in that shot!

The girls.

The view from the top at the very end of the red carpet before we went into the Palladium.

The table.

The event card!

Jen Hawkins. Do I look slightly excited? Ummm and how tall is she? She’s talking with Claire from Woman’s Day and Jen looks like a giant! Well she is a giant! And gorgeous – like really really gorgeous.

One Direction!

So I was squeezing through some chairs and rubbed my bum against someone… I turned and apologised and realised it was One Direction. I then grabbed my camera and managed to get this (below). It wasn’t easy! There was security everywhere. There were big guys crouching on the ground all around them and I had to ask them could I take this. It was only that Zayn (I had to google to find out what this little fella’s name was!) said to his security that he was ok to take this shot. Please don’t hate me all you young girls. And yes, they are adorable and so cute and fresh!

There they are performing. They were good too.

This is me dancing to One Direction.

Here we are! You’ll have to buy TV Week next week to see our shots all together. I can’t believe we won.

Who would have thought hey. 12 months ago my life was totally different. I am so grateful.

PS. We’re not knuckle-heads and I know there are new contestants now and I can’t wait to see them in action, but it was the 8 contestants from 2011 who have set the bar. Life is what you make it. Everyone starts with nothing…

I had a ball and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Loved this post – your enthusiasm is so infectious! I haven’t watched the Logies for many years but I watched this year because you made it sound so exciting! Was great to read about all the behind the scenes stuff! Love how excited you were on the red carpet too!

All your dresses were gorgeous!! Did all the Block girls get theirs specially made as well? Did Channel Nine organise that? Do you get to keep them? Soooo many questions lol.

As for One Direction, I’m sure there are a million teenage girls who will be soooo jealous about that photo!

Congratulations on your big win! What a year it has been for you! Love seeing normal, everyday people living their dreams! Onwards and upwards now – you’re a Logie winner 🙂

Hi Cathy! No, we found our own dresses/designers. Only Amie and mine were made. The others were bought/borrowed. We don’t keep our dresses. This is how the industry works and I’ve learnt so much. My dress took 60 hours to make and it is worth $4,500. Helen doesn’t advertise, but designs dresses for some of the Logies and Brownlows as her advertising. She then keeps them as stock in her studio and girls come in and try them on for styles/fabric/looks and then she creates their wedding dresses or whatever from the dresses she has in stock. When I went to her studio I tried on about 15 dresses and then created my own look from trying on her stock and getting an idea of what suited me.

Well done you!!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching The Block 2011! I love how your photos show how excited and honoured you were to be at The Logies. And also how much of a team you are with all the other contestants. It was a hard time for you on The Block and the whole cast and crew deserves that Logie. So celebrate to the max!!! I love reading your blog each day. What memories and stories you have to share 🙂

No goodie bag. My Mum got one though from Myer with some little things in it – she was sitting in the bleachers 🙂

Your dress was in the top 5 of the evening.
    That much is true.
Everyone from the Block deserved it & looked gorgeous.

I’m so excited that the Block is back but I have to say that I just don’t expect it to be as good as last year as it won’t have the perfect mix of personalities like they did last year. The contestants, particularly you and Amie, are really what made it so great last year.

And yes, the new season has started on The Block, but you guys have definitely given them something to strive for!
It is your logie, without you, the show might not have won it! Can you share it between you?

Great post had a big smile on my face whilst reading. You looked gorgeous, I don’t normally watch the logies but did this year as I have been following you & Tania’s blogs. I also love Jen Hawkins & Asher Keddie & thought they looked awesome as well. It sounded like a fun preparation & a brilliant evening. Great work xx
