Boy’s bedrooms

What is this we have here?? Very cool. I wouldn't be able to pull it off though. But still, what kid wouldn't love that mural and a bed on the floor?! Found here. I'm getting a new house next year and I get to decorate 3 little boy's rooms. I can easily do 2, but …

I’m getting a new house next year and I get to decorate 3 little boy’s rooms. I can easily do 2, but then I am always stuck on number 3!

I don’t like a lot of stuff in their bedrooms, so usually I will think up a colour combination with lots of white. The artwork is always a struggle! Last house we did a red wall in one and a black wall in the other. This time I’m not doing feature walls, so I am pondering what to put on the wall’s. I need a clever person that can do graffiti to put on a big canvas. My almost 10-year old would love that.

Is that thing sitting on a gun? We don’t want him sitting on a gun, but you get the picture – something cool and awesome like this for a 10 year old. But massive! Found here.

You can’t go past the good old red and denim. Found here.

I looooove the Union Jack. Found here.

That’s a bit funky! Didn’t I just say I wouldn’t do a feature wall? Well, this black one and the city skyline might sway me! Found here.

I like how simple this one is with the touch of red and the little black cupboard. Found here.

I will be excited when the time comes for me to start decorating their room’s. It’s so much fun!

Happy Hump Day. What youse all doin’ ? I’m hanging at home. No kids. Bliss. Might see you over on twitter and I have some serious blog reading and commenting to catch up on. K x.

Oooh I love the last one… and that little black cupboard… pinning that one! It’s raining here. We’re off to the Dentist and to get hair cuts. Exciting day ahead. Enjoy your day ‘home alone’! Watched that yesterday… as you do… every school holidays! A-M xx

ahhh.. boys rooms! So much fun!
I have so many ideas and so many ‘favourites’ that I simply cannot decide for my boys rooms!
I do LOVE the superman mural. I’m a huge fan of superman myself, so I’ll be filing that away for future reference =)
Have fun planning – the best part! xx

I haven’t got around to fully decorating the boys rooms after we moved, but like you, this time I kept it neutral and didn’t add feature walls. They all have a chambray/light denim-like quilt and then each have a diff colour combination with bunting and name cushions. My plan is to let them each paint a big canvas in the colour combination matching their rooms…but I haven’t got around to it (8 months down the track)!

As the mum of three boys 22, 13 and 12 I have, for many years, pondered the problems of boy bedroom designs. Early years are easy, I have so many bob the builder and spidermen doona covers but when they get a little older it gets harder. Our boys bedrooms are quite small so fitting things in is a problem. I have had lots of fun doing them over and over though (just to get them right of course). Have fun!

Oooh have fun! I love the red and denim. I just made over my daughters’ bedroom and I love it! Haven’t really asked them what they think but I don’t care. They’re just gonna trash it anyway 🙂

Some great choices but the superhero and cartoon characters as bedspreads or feature walls I could not bare in my home. My boys had to read or watch TV to find these guys!

Love your inspiration pics Katrina, have you thought about popping by the art department of your local high school, you are sure to find yourself a fabulous grafitti artist that would put something on canvas for you. Our local council hired kids to do some grafitti on the new skate park here & 2 yrs on no one has ruined them in any way, must be some grafitti respect at work!!
P.S thanks for the intro to Cranky Numbers, my little boy has ADHD & we are managing it with diet & homeopothy rather than drugs & are grateful for other peoples knowledge & wisdom in this department.
    Cheers

Love all the rooms Treen, my three would most definitely choose three different designs for all different reasons. I love the graffiti lizard, pretty cool! Cart’s would LOVE that on his wall for sure. x Jode

    Hi Katrina,
Love these boy rooms. Not sure if you like decals, but I got some great large spiderman decals from pottery barn kids, really liven up Master 6’s room!!
