If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you will know I have 3 boys. So, there is not a lot of pink in this house! And because I have 3 boys, I find it hard to come up with 3 different boy designs. I wanted them all to have different looking rooms and rooms that suit their personality. I am a big believer in having a nice bedroom. I like my own bedroom to feel like a sanctuary and I like it to be fresh and clean. I don’t like unmade beds, and I don’t like clothes lying on the floor. We spend 1/3 of our lives in bed and a good night’s sleep is more important than anything else in the world. I have been teaching my children about the importance of a nice room. YES, they are rough and messy and stink, but the smiles on their faces when they know they have fresh sheets, or a cool pillow, or a fun wall print in their special space is priceless. Their wives will be thanking me one day!

I have been thinking about their room’s for months and I think I am almost there… I have some more styling to do in all of them and I am on the hunt for specific artwork for 2 rooms, but today I thought I would give you a little peek (if you were on Instagram over the weekend you’ve probably already seen these photos)…

This is my eldest’s room. He is 11. He has a bright green bedside table, and neon yellow chair and grey and yellow accents. The cover is from Adairs (I think they still have them online), the skull cushion is from Etsy, the name cushion is from Hampson Homewares (search on Facebook), the antlers are real but need mounting on the wall (my adult nephew passed them on!) and the yellow chevron cushions were made by Tractor Girl (do you know how hard it is to find pillowcases to buy!?). I am on the hunt for a big piece of graffiti art to finish his room off.

This is my middle child’s room. He is 8. The doona cover is from Sheridan Pop (I am trying to find the matching pillowcases as when I bought it I was blonde and didn’t realise the pillowcases came separately!), the green striped sheets are from Ezibuy, the name cushion is from Hampson Homewares and the full-wall world map is from The Wall Sticker Company. I will do a whole blog post on this wall when I have finished off this room.

This is my youngest child’s room. He is 6. The red doona cover and navy striped sheets are from Ezibuy, the name cushion is from Hamspon Homewares, the name number plate is from Ebay and the Union Jack ottoman is from The Reject Shop. I am on the hunt for a cool bedside table for this room and a big piece of art.

All the boys also have white shelves/bookcases like this here in their rooms. This is where I sit all of their lego, awards, trophey’s and precious things. The wall colour in all rooms is stark white and I just love it.

PS. I definitely need a new camera (instead of the iphone with filters!) to show you these rooms. Haha, but I am sure you can use your imaginations 🙂

PPS. Below is a chair I bought at a garage sale – the guy had turned a bed head in to a bench chair. I just need to style it. I have a couple of seat cushions to pop on top and a print above it. I’ll share that when it’s done.

I feel your dilemma decorating 3 boys rooms. Its hard enough doing one ! Just finishing my sons now , deciding on the final touches is tricky. I have been looking for a large world map for a while now. Thanks for sharing where to buy the world sticker map ! He also choose this week a union jack stool as his desk chair ( but I wasnt so sure ) I might revisit that idea. The hardest thing for me decorating his room is, it is quiet small , so I thought if I did a large map it might be overwhelming & the furniture can only go in one way so for me it dosent feel balanced. I purchased him a small desk this week & his face lit up when it was all set up. His sister usually gets all the decorating attention. I think like your boys he appreciates a nice bedroom too , I have told my two the same thing about the bedroom being a sanctuary , it works for the most part. Mmmmm now as for lego thats my next issue ( no space in his room for shelves for this ) maybe I should hang it from the ceiling !

The boys rooms look great Katrina, they are very lucky boys. They must be so happy when they hop into bed at night – in their own little sanctuary. Gorgeous

I was looking at these the other day, I also have 3 boys and find it very frustrating to decorate their rooms. I am sure these are your missing pillow cases. Hope you feel better today. Anne

    Hi Katrina…Re: Sheridan POP Pillowcases

I am pretty sure the Sheridan Outlet store at Birkenhead Point Drummoyne have them as I was in there last week buying the Pop Biro in Orange…anyhow you could always try calling and paying for them over phone and getting them to post to you.

    Great rooms….and even better names!!

Not the same space between the spots but spots all the same. In fact, this is the most beautiful website with gorgeous fabrics. Well worth a look. PS – I don’t know them, I just love their fabrics 🙂
