I have a double-sided gas fireplace in my house and we LOVE it. We do have ducted gas heating too, but we probably only use it on very cold days just to warm up the bedrooms.
The benefits of a gas fireplace –
- Less pollution
- Less maintenance
- More controlled heat
- Easy to use
- Safer
- No chimney
- Stylish
Anyway, I went looking for some gas fireplace places ideas…
This one below is mine – it’s double sided so is in our dining room and then the living room is on the other side of this wall.
There are obviously lots of variations with a tv situated above, or to the side of it. There’s slim shapes, big ones… you name it.
Have you got a gas fireplace?

Aaaah Katrina, bless you and your bloomin’ marvellous posts! Tell me, now that you’ve lived with it a bit, do you still love your gas fireplace? Does it take long to warm up an open plan area and is it expensive to run? I’ve always wanted a wood burning heater but now I’m thinking maybe I should go with gas… Apologies for being so nosey, so many questions! 😉
Katrina
Love it, best thing ever!!
