Hiya! Thanks for coming by! Hope you’ve had a chance to read my new blog – Design Tribe? And check out the new online chat forum? I’ve been spending lots of time over there lately so this little bloggy has been taking a back seat 🙁

With all of this busyness, I have been feeling a little under the weather. I know my body very well and can feel a little bit of crohn’s arising. Not enough to make me think I am relapsing, but just enough to know it’s time to slow up a bit. I’ve been over-indulging in food and alcohol (even after I went cold turkey on the alcohol for nearly 2yrs!) since Christmas. I haven’t been getting enough sleep and I’ve been pushing myself… we all do it!

I have decided to have a week at home, being quiet and taking it easy. For those who have a chronic illness they’ll know all about these times where you “have to take it easy.” The over-indulging is great at the time, but eventually it catches up with you. It’s all about creating the balance and knowing when I can and can’t do something. BUT, I am good and I am happy and thankful for my life.

On another note, my little friend Ellie is being a BIG trooper at the moment. She has had 2 treatments of the infliximab (the first one didn’t go so well, but the 2nd one was great!). She feels her crohn’s is a little more under control, but now she has a stricture (possibly some scarring from her bowel trying to heal) and she is off to Sydney tomorrow for a little operation. Let’s wish her lots of luck! It’s her turn to be well now!

Also, in the last fortnight a friend of mine has discovered her 14 year old daughter has crohn’s disease. I nearly fell off my chair when she told me. I knew she was sick, but never thought it would be crohn’s. They’ve had a really bad time with it and she wasn’t doing so well… but it seems that in the last couple of days she has been responding to some medication. Thinking of them and hopefully they’ll be back in Wagga soon.

What do you do when you need to take time out? Read, run, watch tv, write…?

Anyway, just a little catch up there for you today. Back again soon… ♥ KC.
