7 ways to start your day being awesome

I am an early riser – that’s no secret! I love getting up early and heading to my computer to get some work done on this blog before anyone else in my house rises. I always think that if I can get a little bit done early then if my day falls apart or if I get sidetracked with other projects I at least feel like I’ve achieved some of my goals.

Today I thought I’d share a few tips on how to make your day awesome. And when I share these below don’t think for a second I do these every day! I am sharing them as ideas to inspire myself too… I need some serious help sometimes to make my days awesome ha ha. But here’s a start…

7 ways to start your day-1

I am a shocker on this one. Sometimes you can find me out and about early in the morning for 3 weeks in a row and then nothing for 3 months. I am up and down and hot and cold. Sometimes I am motivated to get out when the sun is coming up, other times I’m happy to sit on my computer. BUT on the days I do get outside and move I feel much better for it.

I know too many people who don’t eat breakfast! I am not one of those people. I cannot think straight until I eat. I eat to kickstart my brain and without proper food I feel fuzzy and my motivation wanes.

One goal first.

Called ‘Eat the frog first’. Simply put, you want to do the things you need to do but don’t want to do first. This way you’ve done the ‘worst’ thing already and are happier to do the other tasks by comparison. There is always something I really don’t want to do, so I try to get it done first. It helps me quickly move on with the day and sets the tone on how I will finish up.

I have music in my ears constantly. I even sneak the headphones on when the boys are annoying me! Nobody can kill my mood when I have some tunes pumping (like right now as as I am typing this!).

It’s weird to just randomly smile when you don’t feel like it right? But pushing through that feeling and just smiling makes it hard to feel grumpy. Consciously thinking of being happy makes a world of difference. My husband says he much prefers me when I am smiling. I don’t blame him hahaha… people are much more approachable when they smile!

Put your eyes over a vision board.

I don’t have a big magnificent vision board but I have a pretty clear idea on what I want/need to achieve. I do like to make sure I am thinking of those things often. I want to make sure they are in my thoughts and I keep working towards them. Do you have a vision board?

Be grateful.

This one is definitely self-explanatory. Instead of up waking up grumpy, think of something you’re grateful for. I had to have this conversation with my almost-17 year old yesterday. While I am teaching this lesson to him it’s a reminder that I need to do this too. There are so many things to be thankful for even when we’re feeling low. It’s tough I know! I’ve been there – so low that it’s hard to suck it up and get on with it.

Ok, so go – be awesome! Or tomorrow be awesome! ♥ KC.

    Wise words 🙂

If I am in a bad mood I love to crank the music up loud, something I can dance to and sing along really loud (whether I know all the right words or not). Just doing that makes me smile which in turn makes me happy. And when I am happy I am more productive, and awesome. 🙂 All your tips ring true for me.
