4 things you can do to brighten your day

1. Pick a bunch of flowers or buy some.

Aldi have $4.99 bunches! I love flowers. I know they can feel like a waste of money sometimes, but don’t make it an expensive exercise. Try to get them for free too (as in pick some!). Even if you can’t get flowers, grab some green foliage and arrange in a jar. I save instant coffee jars and use them as vases all the time. I put a little arrangement on my dining table and a side table. Even better, brighten someone else’s day by surprising them with a bunch!

2. Wear lipgloss/lipstick ALL day.

I don’t do lipstick. It’s not my thing. It looks messy on me and I can’t get used to it being there. I lick it and smudge it. I prefer a gloss. Nothing fancy, just simple. I love a chapstick!

3. Give someone a compliment.

The more you compliment others the more you’ll start to realise the good things in your own life and you’ll start to compliment yourself. Pick something like their necklace, or the way they arrange their cushions, or compliment their kids.

4. Wear bright colours.

I love black and I wear a lot of it. But lately, I’ve been adding colourful skirts, tops, patterns and florals in to my wardrobe. While I still go for that black singlet and those black shoes, I try to add a bit of brightness where I can. What about a bit of neon? Are you loving it?

I hope you have a great weekend!

I treat myself to a bunch of Aldi flowers each week or pick a bunch from the garden depending on the season. They brighten my day.

Those flowers are beautiful. Just went round to my mum’s for my fix of flowers yesterday, came home with a beautiful bunch of her roses. Love all your tips, esp. colour! Have a good w/end Katrina x
