Hey! How are you guys? I’ve been MIA I know. I went down with my usual illness last week and I haven’t felt like writing much until this morning. Issues surrounding my crohn’s disease came up again (you may have seen that over on Instagram), and I spent a few days in hospital staring at the ceiling. It’s the same issue as last time (I wrote about it here). I have extensive perianal disease and complicated fistulas (yeah nice!!). May as well just say it out loud because it is what it is. So, when I get an infection, it comes on quick, takes me out for a few days and then I need to head to hospital for IV antibiotcs and a clean up. Long term, this is it. There is no fix, just learning how to manage these sepsis outbreaks. Yeah, I am feeling sorry for myself this time round too. I even had tears and I haven’t done that in years! Oh well, I’m a bit more positive today and feel pretty good, so onwards we go.

Anyhoo, I just wanted to check in and say I’m still here! Today I’m off to a football carnival with my boys. I really didn’t want to miss that. We already had to cancel a trip to Canberra earlier in the week because I was sick. But, the up side is that I’ve watched so much of the Olympics and glad I got the time to pause and do that – I’ve loved them. Have you been watching?

I’ll be back to my usual blogging self next week. Oh, and our little friend Damon has made huge leaps and bounds in his recovery after many many scary days and now he’s up and walking around. It’s a miracle and amazing, so when I’ve been sick I’ve been thinking of him and what he’s had to deal with so life then gets put back into perspective.

Have a great day ♥ KC.

Must be so hard for you. Just knocks you about and certainly makes you feel vulnerable. My brother in law has Chrohns terribly (textbook case) and it’s a nightmare what he goes through. I wish there were better treatments. Hope you’re on the mend.

I jus love your blog Katrina – and miss it so much when I check and you are obviously unwell. Keep up the great creative work and remember that, in the future, there may be great medical discoveries that make the nasty diseases like Crohns either more manageable or curable! I have to say you keep an amazing house for someone who is so unwell and has 3 busy boys! Amazing!
