You know how I said yesterday they were starting today? Well they jumped ahead of me and I heard a rumour yesterday morning there was some activity at my block, so of course I jumped in the car to stalk the neighbourhood. I didn’t have time to pack a picnic lunch! I squealed when I saw the excavator and gave him a little wave.
I want to apologise to my new neighbours in advance for my stalking tendencies I will be cruising by a few times a day in my Kidspot Territory. Well we worked out last night I’ll be there at least 3 times a day… once on my own, then with the kids when I get them from school and then again when my husband gets home from work. Couldn’t I just wait and go once a day with everyone, you say? NO! That would be sensible and the best thing to do, but I’m too excited for that. 😉
So today I present to you – a piece of dirt with grass on it…
then dirt with some mounds of dirt…
and tomorrow you might get to see cut-in-to-shape dirt.
Now THAT will be something to come back for….
I’m hash-tagging all my photo’s on Instagram with #katrinasnewhouse, so you can easily search that to find updates. I have another place I am working on where I want to put everything easily in one spot for you to see what’s happening, but I am struggling to get it all working… argh! Hopefully in the next week or 2 I’ll have that ready.
In the meantime, enjoy my piece of dirt AND enjoy this gorgeous laundry (I apologise – I don’t have original source as I found this saved on an old hard drive of mine)…
I hope you have a great Wednesday! I have a full day of work and appointments.
Might see you on Twitter because you know I’m always on there! X

How. Exciting.
While we were building, we rented a house about 200m away, in the next street. I could peer out the lounge windows and see what was happening on our block. And I admit to being over there at least three times a day… 🙂

Exciting times! I’ve been waiting for 4 years to start our reno, which is hopefully going to commence in January. We are renting just around the corner from our house, so I imagine I’ll be doing lots of “walk-bys” when it starts. xx

Ooh exciting! I’d be stalking too if it was my block 🙂
Belinda
Love that laundry! Too pretty for a laundry!! I want to know where the piles of washing / folding / ironing are?!?!
Deanne
very exciting!!!!! I would be there three times a day too!
Stylish Kylie
Oh how exciting. There’s nothing wrong with driving past 3 times a day – I’d call that normal.
Who would have a laundry like that? Well it’s Martha’s of course!
Cheers Kylie

Its always exciting getting a house built or doing renovations. How big is the block, Katrina? It looks a good size

I’m with you Kat, I’d do the same thing & go three times a day!! Why go once when you can go 3 times!!!!! It’s all very exciting and I too look forward to the day when I can visit a block of land watching a house being built for me 🙂
Jodi aka Lipgloss Mumma
Very exciting! Can’t wait to watch the progress. We are a month away from finish, I can remember being back at the beginning but so glad it’s almost done x

Three times a day sounds perfectly normal to me! Enjoy the process, Katrina. Isn’t funny how every part of the build seems even more exciting than the last, even when you think you couldn’t possibly be more excited than you were in the previous stage!?!

I believe that’s a cat 13-16 tonne excavator.. That’s literally the first thing that came into my mind when I saw pic no 2. Omg the earthmover in me is coming out. I love dirt.. I really do. So I got very excited as well to see little mounds as you put it. Cannot wait to see the rest.. And I haven’t forgotten that pic I promised. I just needed my MIL to go on hols do I could clean up!
Good job Katrina!

That was the laundry I copied my laundry off! There’s another half to that photo too, with the sink in it. It’s on my pinterest page I think. I’ll dig it out. Beyond exciting that you have diggers digging and stuff! Xx

Hi Katrina, how exciting for you with the new build. I remember what that felt like, 13th July last year to be exact 🙂
And what an amazing laundary! It looks more like a kitchen than a laundry – a room you would actually like to hang in.
Deb
Yay I feel in my waters we are in for an interesting ride as Katrina builds.

So exciting for you!! We won’t be in our new old house until June next year, so your updates will keep me motivated until then xo
