Want some social media stats?

Social media is not a fad.

How well you embrace it will give you an edge above your competitors.

♦ Over 50% of the world’s population is under 30 years of age and 96% of them are using social media
♦ We don’t have a choice about whether we use social media
♦ 80% of companies use social media as recruitment
♦ YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world
♦ There are over 200,000,000 blogs
♦ Almost 80% of people trust their peers recommendations. Only 14% trust advertisements {and if this is true – it goes to show that bloggers can have a HUGE impact}
♦ We no longer search for the news, the news finds us
♦ Social media isn’t a fad

And if you don’t believe me, then watch this video…

Social media is my job. Teaching it, designing it, writing it, creating it.
Think about how YOU use it? What are your strengths and weakness and how can you improve {that’s if you’re running a business and trying to make money}…

    Brilliant content Katrina, have you thought about teaching this to our kids schools?
    My daughters primary school is against social media in all forms and labels it as ‘very bad’.
    My son’s college however communicates through Twitter, website, email, txt, blogs, facebook and my son does all his homework on his iPad. No text books either.
    Its the way of the future and I love it.

    Thanks for this Katrina! Once again you are tops! I totally loved the Facebook-as-a-country! A great visual right there. Makes us all think. I love social media and it’s reach awes me. I love that my passions and dreams are able to reach so many all over the world.
