The weatherboard look on my new house

The covenants on the subdivision doesn’t specifically say I can have weatherboards. It says I can have material made from ‘fibre cement sheeting’, so I’ve had to look for a weatherboard product that fits in to this category. So far, I’m looking at product found here. It has good insulation properties and looks like it’ll fit in to the category of fibre cement sheeting.

It looks pretty good to me! I’m also looking at a product we used on The Block too. Just depends on who gives me the best price I reckon!

Have a great Wednesday!

I love weatherboard houses, they hold so much character and hoping our next one will be just that even if it needs some work.

    Hi Katrina,
    I LOVE those houses……
We built a weatherboard house, a VERY simple beach style one.
Here is the link, you can check out the weatherboard profile……it doesn’t show the whole house ;o)

The builder I work with, Garth Chapman Queenslanders (www.traditionalqueenslanders.com.au) uses James Hardie Heritage boards for all their houses. They look gorgeous, very durable and great for low maitenance painting. There are lots of photos on that website if you want to see more houses which use it! 🙂

Really looking forward to seeing your new place start! xx

I love the weatherboard look. That first photo looks so amazing, that is so my dream kind of house, that classic country look is the best and will never go out of style.

Ohhh dear. In our house three years this month and I said I was not building again. Not that is was that bad but I was really happy with what we did. But lately……. lets just say I love the idea of the weatherboard houses they look gorgeous. Thank god we live on a hundred acres and you’d be lucky to find another hundred to build on. I’ll just sit back and drool over your house as it progresses. (Can’t wait)

Are there any weathboard builders in Melbourne. We are thinking of building and I would definitely go for them. I love their look. Are they more expensive to build then brick houses?

Any idea what colour the weatherboards are in the first pic? I love this look. I’m currently thinking of colorbond classic cream paint.
