2 of my boys were busily drawing last night and yelling out “don’t look, don’t come over here Mum!“. Love them…

I think you can tell a lot about the child from how they draw their family. Don’t you?

Here are their drawings…

This one is from my middle child, Tex (he’s 7). He always draws just him and I. He needs that extra bit of love. Sensitive, clever, quiet and will sail through most things. He’s the one I think I need to keep my eye on, or he’ll slip through my fingers. Loves his Mum more than anything and I know he longs for one-on-one time with me. I try to recognise that every day.

This one is by my baby child, Chevy. He only EVER draws Mummy, Daddy and him. ALWAYS. I have piles of drawings with only the 3 of us (and the dog!). He believes there are no other members in our family. He believes he is the centre of the universe and no one can enter in to his little bubble. A day-dreamer, a rat bag and still a baby (although he’s 6!). Ok, so see the little green people?? He added those in later when I asked where are your brother’s? He’d happily never have them in the picture. This makes me laugh!

It’s these little moments where I wish I could put a lid on things.

Yesterday I spent the morning at school watching these 2 do their athletics carnival. They made me laugh. They were so serious and competitive. Hmmm where do they get that from?? HA!

They are the best of friends and love each other to death. They’re only 17 months apart, but I think they should be twins.

Please don’t let them grow up!

Oh those pictures are precious! Reminds me of my eldest two who are 15 months apart.

    Very cute Katrina,
My son once came home from school with an anatomically correct picture he’d drawn of our family. When I told my hubby over the phone, his only question was ‘is it big?’ He just wanted to know if he’d been flatteringly represented if you know what I mean……;o)

This is so adorable! I also believe that children’s drawings represent where they are mentally. I love that your baby fails to include his brothers in his ‘family’ 😛 Classic youngest behaviour!

Precious moments. I hope you will frame some to embarrass them with later in life.

Ha, I love it. My 4th, who is also 6 is the baby & thinks he is the centre of the universe. My second is also the sensitive one who loves his Mum & the oldest don’t even get me started-Hard work.
The 3 child is classic middle child, but adores his Dad more than life. I love raising boys. It is such a learning curve & yes to the pause button.

That’s so funny, and cute to see their unique little personalities coming through even in their artwork. I love that you can tell so much about your boys through their pictures 🙂 How nice for them to be so close in age too – they’ll be good little buddies throughout life those two!

Grace was busy crafting away here yesterday, chatting non-stop and doing my head in (as I had just come down with a cold) and just as I was thinking to myself ‘do you ever stop talking!’ she hands me a picture and says, ‘this is for you, it says get better Mummy’ 🙂

Awwe thats so cute! Kids’ artwork is priceless-until there is so much artwork in the house, that you have to sneak out at night to put them in the recycling bin when they are not looking! Lol
But theres always SOME artwork in the house all the time! On the fridge, on the wall, it never ends!

Enjoy those pics- lifelong memories they are!! Xx

One of my favourite posts!!!! I have kids that ‘delete’ (err leave out) siblings too! LOL Maybe because there’s sooo many of them??? Or they wish there were less of them… I THINK each secretly wishes to be an only child! LOL… too late for that I say! Sorry kids, you have to share the inheritance (if I don’t spend it first…ha ha!!!) I have just boxed up many boxes of pics just like this…I can part with very few of them. I hoard my children’s artwork! Heaven help me in years to come when I decide to do something ‘creative’ with it. Well I won’t be bored in my 60s!!!
