Materials from the original home were re-used and recycled, reinforcing the idea of a restoration. The upper level addition has been encased in a perforated screen that provides shade and protection from the elements, with the screen pattern inspired by the original floral carpet and fireplace tiles. Illumination at night provides joy to passers-by. The external timberwork, moulded plaster, handmade tiles and flannel flower glass in the original house provide a distinct arts and crafts aesthetic. – Agent.
