Hi there! Thanks for stopping by today. We’ve seen lots of plywood popping up in the interior design world lately and I was wondering what you all thought about it? Is it a yes or no for you? I’m personally on the fence, so I need your help to decide!

Plywood is cost effective, it’s easy to get your hands on it and it does have a nice swirling pattern. You can use it on floors, walls or make furniture with it. It’s also easy to paint (or even whitewash).

I’ve seen it in bedrooms more often as a feature bedhead. It adds a level of warmth and texture and can be easily propped up behind the bed.

Here are some photos to help you (and me!) decide…

A piece of plywood from the hardware store all ready to go for a bedhead would set you back about $50. If you want larger pieces, or different sizes they are available too – you just need to get it cut. I also think it would look good in a kids bedroom.

If you already love it let me know! If you’re thinking about it, I’d love to know what you might do with it?

Not a fan inside, but I do have a small piece with our house number attached outside on castle grey rendered wall, which I think looks cool 🙂

Perfect for shop/market displays (very on trend) but I’m not a fan of it inside.

I am still sitting on the fence – I always saw it as a cost effective building material and on the cheap side. I would use it as a DIY bedhead or something similar, that’s about it.

I love the idea of a plywood pin board and a bedhead – it is very industrial and wouldn’t suit my home. But maybe one day 😛
