No more soup for you

The BlogHer conference is over. I loved every second of it. I really hope I can come back next year. It's in Chicago for 2013. I've learned lots and you will see some additions and changes on how I blog in the coming months (I have so man ideas!). I'll do a wrap up post …

The BlogHer conference is over. I loved every second of it. I really hope I can come back next year. It’s in Chicago for 2013. I’ve learned lots and you will see some additions and changes on how I blog in the coming months (I have so man ideas!). I’ll do a wrap up post on it all when I get home and have my proper computer.

Tonight I caught the subway to Chinatown. There was a subway nazi. We called him the subway soup man. Funniest thing I’ve ever seen! He was yelling and bossing everyone. I thought he was going to say “no more subway for you”.

Chinatown was huge and so many restaurants. We’d heard about a little place which is underground. We found the door – number 21. Best Chinese I’ve ever had! True.

My husband did Central Park today. He saw a squirrel!!! He took photos too! I couldn’t believe he got to see one. I squealed when he showed me the pictures! I’m on the hunt for one now.

Last night we did a night tour of Brooklyn. Basketball games going on like in the movies, lots of history and the Brooklyn Bridge!

I think I already have an accent. I’m saying “ninedy” (ninety), “folks” and “dinner” like I’m a local. I have got the hang of their grid-system (ie. the streets and avenues are all numbers). You never say “I wan to go to 811 Example Street”. You need to say “take me to 53rd and 7th”. This means the corner of 53rd Street on &th Avenue. They work on ‘blocks’. It’s so much fun. I’m loving guessing and working out all of this stuff

I have a big day of shopping tomorrow. We’re off to Woodbury Commons. Over 200 DFO stores! WE are catching a bus to them (and taking a suitcase with us!). I can’t wait. Want me to buy you a present? 😉

Back tomoz. X

Woodbury common is the best! Make sure you print out the vip vouchers before you go – they are worth it. We hired a car and drove out there and the car was packed to the hilt coming home! Be carful with your suitcase on the bus coming home. Cocktails at applebees for lunch is another must too! Have a great time and say hi to the Ralph Lauren store for me!

We took the Hampton Luxury Liner to Woodbury Common in March, such a great day. You’ll love the shopping!

I think you’ve done it the right way round, getting the ‘work’ stuff out the way first, and now you can relax, enjoy the city and do whatever you want. I am reading posts from the ones heading home now, and I feel sorry for them!

Cant wait to hear all about Blogher, the way you and A-M have described it sounds like we need a bit of a catch up session and I believe you will help us lead the charge. Was there many people from anywhere else in the world or was it just Americans and you 2 crazy Aussies.
I hope the shopping is awesome and you will get to show us what to look out for the summer months ahead.xx

I HAVE to stop myself from saying ‘Whadareyagonnado!’ Like the Italians in Staten Island….gah! And the other one… 2000 – 12
NOT 2000 AND 12. Easier to say it there way I think… The lingo catches on! I easily pick up the accent, and then get into trouble for it 😉 Have fun for the rest of the trip!!!!! Don’t rush home, lol, but I am Hangin’ to hear all about this blogging stuff!!!! Literally!

Oh … your nearly first squirrel!!! I can remember squealing with delight when I first saw one. The novelty never wore off 🙂 If you see any, I’ll have some Kevyn Aucoin “The Mascara” please … $25 over there compared to $40 at only Mecca Cosmetica here! Happy DFOing!!!
