Here are some snaps from around my house this week… call me crazy but I do like to clean! Yes, I live in a house full of boys, but that doesn’t mean everything needs to be putrid all of the time (well sometimes IT IS total slothness around here!). This was the first week the boys were back at school fully, so I had a chance to clean up, rearrange, fluff the cushions and wash stuff properly.
Last night you should have seen my washing pile and the grass through my laundry. There’s usually a constant pile of footy jumpers on rotation to be washed, or packed in to bags for the weekend. 😉 What a riveting Friday night I had sorting that out ha!
I love colour! I’m not a minimalist (although I look at Pinterest and drool at the simplicity of people’s homes sometimes), and I like to fill every corner with stuff as you can see…

My house will be neglected this weekend because we have footy commitments today and tomorrow. It’s only 5am here so I can relish in the fact it’s clean for the next 2 hours tops. Gotta run…

I love to clean, too … it’s actually really therapeutic! (Well, for me, I find).
I’m a bit addicted to new cleaning products, as well as things that smell good. Dettol brought out a new range of cleaning products recently, so I just had to buy one of each … honestly, having your kitchen, bathroom and lavatory smelling like a hospital is the best! 🙂
I also love to spritz lavender around my house … especially on the carpets and mats … it has an odour neutralising effect and smells really clean. I buy cheap lavender essential oil, and mix it – one bottle of essential oil to two bottles of water – before adding it to my spray bottle and getting to it.
Cleaning your fridge with vanilla essence is something a lot of people don’t seem to know about … I do my microwave with vanilla essence too (you just have to make sure that you don’t leave any smudges behind) … and I burn heaps of vanilla essential oil around the house too (I find the aroma of vanilla helps heaps with my anxiety).
