Hi to my lovely friend Lauren from You big eejit! Actually, I think I somehow found Lauren on twitter and we now check in every few days on twitter or facebook to see what each other has been doing. She is also THE nicest person eva!

This is what Lauren says:

I live in Somerset in the South West of England, working as a Children’s Worker in the local Baptist Church. I am also studying for a BA in Children and Family Work with Applied Theology which keeps me very busy! I live in a lovely little rented house with my cat and we will soon be joined by a big 6ft 4in man in the shape of my fiance Colin! We are hoping to get married in October next year and are having lots of fun planning our wedding. I started my blog on a whim one day and tend to just blog what’s in my head, but do foodie-type posts occasionally and have recently started “Thousand Word Thursday” where I share an old photo with my readers. While I can’t wait to have a house of my own to decorate and make more “me”, I am NOT remotely creative regarding interior design, and have no desire at all to move into a house purely to renovate it! So if any of you Aussie home-makers fancy a UK project be my guest 😉 I can’t remember how I met Katrina but I think it was via my cousin’s wife Milena on Twitter…. maybe! Things I like: my bed, shoes, holidays, rugby, Jesus, tea, sunshine, picnics, planes, books and food. Enough already: bad manners, apostrophe misuse, laziness, queueing, dentists, snobbery, and silence.

Thought it might be good to add in what an “eejit” is just in case people don’t know! It’s a Northern Ireland (where I was born) term for a fool/wally/silly person. It’s always affectionate and part of banter, and rarely used as an actual insult.

Hey, good to meet you, Lauren. Tell me, is 'eejit' an 'idiot'? J x

    Hi Jane,
Yes an eejit is a bit like an idiot, but I would feel more comfortable about calling someone an eejit as it is more affectionate than idiot!
