This episode seemed like a million years ago. For us, we have achieved so much since then and to watch ourselves crying after the first few days reminds me how hard The Block was from the very beginning.
This is not the last time we cry and have issues with builders. We are not the only couple that have dramas too!
I remember the quiver I felt in those first few days….
Here are some points that describe our feelings:
1. I didn’t know it would be so hard. We didn’t know there would be houses that would be so awful.
2. This is the first time Amie and I had been away from our own families – our network of people.
3. All the other couples had their partners in life with them. Amie and I had each other though. But it’s not always the same.
4. Everyone told me how hard it would be, but we were still determined to do it.
5. Warts and all… you see us for who we ARE! Fragile sometimes, but fiercely competitive.
6. If we didn’t show our emotions, then who are we?
7. No one can ever judge us until they’ve done it
8. This was the best time of my life.
9. I laughed more than I had ever laughed.
10. I drank more alcohol than I had ever consumed!
Stick with us. Our roller coaster of emotions will have you hooked!

I love watching you guys. I'm even starting to warm to the couple that I found were portrayed in a way I felt they were most irritating. You girls are my Faves though. :o)

I really felt for Amie last night. Not that I didn't understand the importance of getting the fireplace right, just that there are ways of saying things.

I'm enjoying watching your adventure, and have converted alol my friends (and my 8 year old!)to Team Katrina and Amie.

I am loving, loving, loving you two.
    Absolutely loving it.
    Amie is gorgeous.
You are absolutely, exactly like I thought you would be.
Happy, funny,a bit fiery, competitive & "on to it".
I absolutely love everything about you guys.
The kids run throught the house yelling "Katrina's on Mum!"
I stop & put myslef on the couch & watch, wishing it was an hour every night.
Can't wait to see your room finished.
    You guys rock.

last night was the first ep that I finally got to watch (I've loved the block since the beginning)…we get it at 6.30 and with 4 kids the timing isn't good…you have made some great points there…and like you said, if you don't show your emotions then who are you? Can't wait to watch it all unfold in the coming weeks!

Don't worry!.. We're hooked and in love with you both. Its your natural human emotion that Mrs B and I love the most. You both handled yourselves significantly better than we would have last night. Go Katrina and Amie!

I said 3 months ago that Australia is gunna love you. I know I'm right.

    Loving you both also!

Really felt for you both last night – I thought the site foreman was rude and, quite frankly – a bit of an ass! There are ways to word things, a bit of diplomacy doesn't go astray if you ask me.. And kindness.

I'm pretty sure I would have started wailing when I took my first steps through the front door!

And given the emotional roller coaster you guys were on – a bit of a cry every now and then would have been just what you needed. Better out than in!

I'm loving this year's series – totally hooked.

I love watching The Block – and my boys (5 + 7) watch it with me every night. You guys are my fav's (gosh, I sound like a teenager – oh I wish!!!) and the boys like Josh & Jenna (is that their name??). Can't wait to see you weave your magic. All us fellow bloggers are behind you. Kick their butts (-:

Oh, and having the TV crew watch everything you do must drive you insane )-:

I don't know why people think they can judge you guys? I'd be crying, drinking, hopefully laughing and swearing like a trooper if I were there!!
Was so glad to see the fireplace come back!! Did you sometimes wonder if the tradies additudes were a bit different towards you because you were women? It drives me nuts to think that people think we can't do the same as men. When my tradie partner Lyndon and I renovate I always harrass him to let me have a go with the tools. I like to learn and do as much as he does. He thinks of me as the apprentice but I think agrees now that I am quite capable 🙂

I think anyone who has renovated or built a home would not be judging you. What a big job for you all to undertake in eight weeks! Anyway, I'm hooked and I rarely ever watch TV!! xx

God I would have been in tears walking into a shell of a house that looked like it should have been condemned.

Go Girls!!!! Crying proves you are human, if you aren't meant to do it, you wouldn't and I felt like banging the inspectors head in for just being a twat.

I thought you were so brave when you were holding back the tears. I loved how protective you were of your sister. You are doing so well under incredibly tough circumstances. I would have been furious with the builder. No judging from this house- just lots of sympathy and support.
By the way you look adorable with your hair curly:)
