I love a good bit of telly. I love it when it hits that magic hour of 7pm in the evening. I park myself on the couch with my ipad/iphone in hand and I tweet the living daylights out of a tv show.
On the other hand, I know nothing about movies. I hardly ever watch them. I am hopeless with actors/actresses names. Unless they are Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz… that’s about the extent of my movie knowledge…
I’ve often thought about starting a tv show blog. I could write and write all day about my favourite shows… maybe I will! Hey there is an idea… There is only so much writing about me on this blog one can put up with! 😉
So do you like tv? What’s your favourite show?
I have a few favourites at the moment:
The Mentalist. You don’t need me to go on about Patrick Jane, you already know that’s one reason I like this show. But apart from Patrick (and who thinks Wayne looks like Buzz Lightyear?), I really enjoy the story line and the process on how they catch the bad guy. It’s like a board game. I feel like I am playing along trying to pick up on the clues. The story lines are not too gory. I don’t do weird, sickening and bloody stories. I can’t sleep if I watch a tv show that gets my heart racing before sleep time. I used to like Criminal Minds (not only for Shemar Moore) but it started getting a little too intense for me. The crimes can get a bit sickening.
…
Tricky Business. I’m sad this show hasn’t been picked up again by Channel 9. I was enjoying it. I met Gigi at The Logies and again at The Block houses. She is miniature. Like tiny! I liked the show. It was different. I didn’t have to concentrate too hard when watching it. I liked the story line about being debt collectors… Shame it won’t be on for another season. In the meantime it’s moved nights to Wednesday at 9.30pm.
…
The Voice US. It only started last night and I tweeted the bejezuz out of it. I’m not sure if I’ll follow through with the entire show because Christina Aguilera isn’t my cup of tea. Her boobies, make-up and fake hair has me cringing. I am not sure I will have the same connection with these judges as our own because I don’t feel like I know them as well as ours. Plus it was filmed a few months ago so it’s hard to play along when I know someone will tweet me and ruin the winner!
…
CSI: Miami. What about Horatio Caine? Love him or hate him? I love him! His sunglasses, the looks, the one-liners.. all entertains me. I think he is a crack up. His lady friends are always drop-dead gorgeous and immaculately groomed. How does he find them?? And what about Calleigh. I like her! I want to be her. Her hair is perfect, her accent is perfect… she is like perfect robot. Even the way she draws her gun is perfect…
…
Being Lara Bingle. Yep, I love the show. It’s just an easy watch. She makes me laugh. I love Lara. I’ve met her and Hermione and had dinner with them here, so naturally I am going to like the show (so is my husband because he’s kissed her on the cheek a few times!). I hope the show gets picked up for another season. I’d like to see her do well.
…
The Living Room TV. This is a new show and I really want it to stick around! I am enjoying it. Baz and I chat a bit on email (he’s such a nice bloke), I have a crush on The Crazy Bull, Dr Chris makes me laugh on his adventures and Amanda Keller is a scream! It’s a casual show, but the projects are all achievable. My favourite segment is HOT OR NOT. I love it when the products they show don’t work or are totally ridiculous.
…
Mrs Brown’s Boys. Naughty and funny. I has been known to make me snort. Especially last week’s episode when she was waxing her bikini line and had to keep fanning that area because she’d ripped skin off! My dog is named Winnie and so is her best friend, so their whole relationship makes me laugh!
…
Keeping up with the Jonses. I hope that comes back. My husband calls the kids “Little Milton” all the time! We loved that show.
…
I don’t watch cooking shows. I don’t like to cook much so it all goes straight over my head. I encourage my husband to watch them though 😉
I don’t watch many sports shows (I am obviously not athletic).
I love a good infomercial. Especially the Ahh Bra (or the sloppy boob bra as I call them). I love the ab circle pro ads (there is a long story here that involves my husband and a purchase of one… haha!). All of the infomercial ads give me a great source of entertainment!
I can’t wait for BIG BROTHER. Yep, I’ll be tweeting the pants off that one.
There are lots more shows I love. I might come back and add to this post as I remember them.

Yep guilty. I could watch TV all day. Double standards in this house, as I’m forever telling the kids to turn the TV off! (Probably because there is something on the other channell I want to watch!) Lara Bingle? Seriously. I cant believe their still airing it! But again guilty, I may have watched once it twice.
Katrina
I think it’s great fun! Ha! She makes me laugh and cringe!

Hi Katrina, I am a fan of The Living Room & Being Lara Bingle as well. The Circle is on in the background every day, love it. I am a big Days of our Lives fan, as you may be aware because of my Twitter ramblings (sorry). I’m also addicted to Escape to the Country on 7two, love MasterChef and The Voice, hah looks like I am a reality and soap fan 🙂 Also enjoyed Ringer and Revenge,House, Grey’s Anatomy oops too many to name, pretty much anything really.
Cannot wait for Big Brother to be back!
enjoy your day 🙂
Chris
Katrina
Hi Chris, I never watch The Circle, maybe I should give it a go??
Chris R
absolutely give it a go, it is really good. I just have it on in the background while i potter around but it makes me smile and laugh .. it really is a lot of fun 🙂

Love Love Patrick Jane…… Simon Baker is gorgeous but that Buzz Light year comment cracked me right up….
Horatio yes its like a comedy show. Is he on some depressents?
Big Brother here we come

I enjoy watching Being Lara Bingle, but i don’t feel like Lara has done herself any favours with show. She comes across so ditzy and self centered and i hate all the drama with her car making it seem like she thinks she is above the law, i hate the thought of young girls watching it and thinking its ok for them to not pay their regestration and lose their licence.
As for TV, i dont get to watch a lot of it actually on the TV, i tend to be busy around 7-10 most nights so i usually download shows to my computer, currently loving the show hart of dixie!
🙂

I also cant WAIT for Big Brother, Love this show!
At the moment I am absolutely hooked on The Walking Dead…bring on season 3!
Mrs B xxx
Katrina
Haven’t heard of that show. When is that on?
Megan
I first watched Mrs Brown’s Boys last week because my Mum raved on about it. This is because it reminded her of her Mum and grandmother who were both Irish and were wicked. I thought it was hilarious! And then we both saw the Spanish lady dancer in the print on the wall and realised it’s the exact same one that my nanna had, which my Mum had loved since she was a little girl! So it was a bit sentimental 🙂
CAN’T WAIT for BB!
Jane @ The Hesitant Housewife
I am very excited about Big Brother coming!! Can’t wait 🙂

When I’m home, which at the moment with a 3 month old is most of the time, I always have the TV on I can’t stand the silence! I love reality TV but I can be a bit picky. I went off Big Brother but I really hope this one is better. I love Survivor, Masterchef and The Block (of course, but going into withdrawal). I watch Lara Bingle because its like watch a carcrash I can’t take my eyes off it. I love Offspring and am still a big Grey’s fan! Can’t wait for the Olympics! No matter what it all serves as background noise even when I’m not focused.
Katrina
Same here, it always seems to be on! I like the tv more than the kids. They won’t watch it! Sometimes I tell them I will give them pocket money if they just sit and watch! Hahaha! They’d rather wrestle and tear the house apart!
Lisa King
I love anything reality and am loving The Amazing Raceat the moment, especially as two of the guys are from here. Also hanging out for Big Brother. Missing The Block terribly!

Hi Katrina,
Yep, the Mentalist is great. I’ve been meaning to watch Mrs Brown’s Boys……
And this is soooooo daggy but I love watching Death in Paradise on ABC 1 on Saturday 7:30pm (A British Detective show set in the Caribbean) It’s really cool……in a hip but daggy way!
Tania xx
Katrina
My sister likes that show too!
Deb
I tried… REALLY tried to like Tricky Business but it was just lame. very bad acting by the support cast, boring plot lines, not enough sizzle.
my current joy is offspring. love love love. dr patrick is my ideal man. hmmm hmmmm hmmmmmmmmmmm.
why on earth do they feel the need to bring back big brother. I know I will watch but only to see what is different.
I used to love masterchef, but its become mundane.
I miss the block 🙁 major withdrawals in this house!

Hi Katrina! Have stalked your blog for a while now…this is the first post I’ve commented on cos I too love TV! (hate to admit). Faves are: all Cherry Healey’s docos, Snog Marry Avoid (completely cringe-worthy!), The Voice (so happy US season 2 started – loved the first), addicted to The Bachelor/Bachelorette shows, Packed to the Rafters, hell I even sit through Psychic TV Live late at night! Really enjoyed Mabo the other week too.
Katrina
I love Snog Marry Avoid too!

I love POD and her sarcasm! Some of those people are truly hideous aren’t they!

I used to watch heaps of tv but since i started reading 50 shades of grey last week i havent turned it on!!! My love affair with Christian Grey is almost finished then it will be back to tv! I like watching survivor and cant turn off anything to do with the kardashians…they are train wrecks but entertaining! I also cant wait for big brother
Michelle Hayward
I’m not really a tv girl…so I say…but if you saw the line up of things I love to watch you would strongly disagree…problem is they are all finishing…then what? That awkward moment when a show you love finishes and you don’t know what to do with your life… hmmm…People would argue that as I have ten children I never watch TV…I DO! HONEST! I am forever being told to buy one, I have four what more do you want…someone suggested I actually turn it on! Smart Alec! 😉 I do watch, but I am busy doing ‘other’ things at the same time – blogging, reading, talking to the kids, refereeing, stuff, ya know…just in general – whacking on the washing etc…as that multiplies in the dark at my house…no it’s not just us! It’s the washing too! *Rolls eyes! Anyway…the upshot is…I once said ‘I could live without tv, I couldn’t care less if it broke tomorrow…’ Well umm that actually happened…kinda…what happened was, some little darling unplugged it and lost the thingie (the plug thingie) that runs the booster for our tvs…NO TV…for ummm I guess about 3 weeks. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Life was OVER!!!!!!! So yeah I guess I am a little addicted, albeit mostly distracted…at times 😉
Katrina
Gee I laughed! I hear people say that to families who have lots of children too! Hahaha!!!
Michelle Hayward
Yep! So this time we got a puppy instead! 🙂 LOL
IvyRose
I have to confess I’m a reality TV junkie!!!!
Love Masterchef, The Block, The Voice, The Amazing Race, My Kitchen Rules, Cake Boss, Jersey Shore, The Kardashians.. you name it i LOVE it.. sad hey!!!!
Kira
I love TV shows too. I’m so sad now The Block is over. But I also love Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy, Offspring, Hart of Dixie (hello Mr Bethel!).. I could go on. I never used to watch that much TV, but I started to when the fiance worked away – so I blame him! Hehe.
Jode
Hi Treen,
I can not believe that you don’t have Revenge on your list!!!
That is my only “must watch” show of the week.
I must admit though, I can’t wait for Big Brother to start.
Just a tad addictive! lol BTW did you end up auditioning???
Have a great day.
x Jode
Katrina
I have watched a few episodes of Revenge and loved it, but it clashed with The Voice! I need to go back and start from the beginning on that one!
Hahahahaha didn’t do BB but should have!!
Laura
I am a TV addict! My favourite shows at the moment are: Once upon a time, Amazing race, Mrs Browns Boys, Packed to the rafters, Greys Anatomy, Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, Offspring, Outnumbered, The Tudors, An Idiot Abroad, Grand Designs… the list goes on and on 🙂
I was watching Tricky Business but it lost me a few episodes in. I am totally lost now that the Block has finished.
I tend to record stuff and watch it through the day when hubby is at work and the kids have their nap, even though that is when I should be doing the housework!
Jesus Deschanel
My favorites are Bones, Glee, Friends Modern Family, The Voice, Once Upon A Time, The Block, Summer heights High, Smash, Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock 🙂
Steph @ Lipstick & Cake
I couldn’t live without TV! It’s how I relax and wind down after a busy day at work and I love staying in at least one day on the weekends and watching tv whilst pampering myself or doing the washing/ironing, blogging etc.
I have so many favourite shows including The Mentalist, One Born Every Minute, Revenge, The Voice, Modern Family, Rules of Engagement, Offspring, Private Practice etc and then there’s the reality tv shows – wow! I can’t get enough of them. Bring on Big Brother!
Steph
