I could watch TV all day, could you?

I love a good bit of telly. I love it when it hits that magic hour of 7pm in the evening. I park myself on the couch with my ipad/iphone in hand and I tweet the living daylights out of a tv show.

On the other hand, I know nothing about movies. I hardly ever watch them. I am hopeless with actors/actresses names. Unless they are Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz… that’s about the extent of my movie knowledge…

I’ve often thought about starting a tv show blog. I could write and write all day about my favourite shows… maybe I will! Hey there is an idea… There is only so much writing about me on this blog one can put up with! 😉

So do you like tv? What’s your favourite show?

I have a few favourites at the moment:

The Mentalist. You don’t need me to go on about Patrick Jane, you already know that’s one reason I like this show. But apart from Patrick (and who thinks Wayne looks like Buzz Lightyear?), I really enjoy the story line and the process on how they catch the bad guy. It’s like a board game. I feel like I am playing along trying to pick up on the clues. The story lines are not too gory. I don’t do weird, sickening and bloody stories. I can’t sleep if I watch a tv show that gets my heart racing before sleep time. I used to like Criminal Minds (not only for Shemar Moore) but it started getting a little too intense for me. The crimes can get a bit sickening.

Tricky Business. I’m sad this show hasn’t been picked up again by Channel 9. I was enjoying it. I met Gigi at The Logies and again at The Block houses. She is miniature. Like tiny! I liked the show. It was different. I didn’t have to concentrate too hard when watching it. I liked the story line about being debt collectors… Shame it won’t be on for another season. In the meantime it’s moved nights to Wednesday at 9.30pm.

 …

The Voice US. It only started last night and I tweeted the bejezuz out of it. I’m not sure if I’ll follow through with the entire show because Christina Aguilera isn’t my cup of tea. Her boobies, make-up and fake hair has me cringing. I am not sure I will have the same connection with these judges as our own because I don’t feel like I know them as well as ours. Plus it was filmed a few months ago so it’s hard to play along when I know someone will tweet me and ruin the winner!

CSI: Miami. What about Horatio Caine? Love him or hate him? I love him! His sunglasses, the looks, the one-liners.. all entertains me. I think he is a crack up. His lady friends are always drop-dead gorgeous and immaculately groomed. How does he find them?? And what about Calleigh. I like her! I want to be her. Her hair is perfect, her accent is perfect… she is like perfect robot. Even the way she draws her gun is perfect…

Being Lara Bingle. Yep, I love the show. It’s just an easy watch. She makes me laugh. I love Lara. I’ve met her and Hermione and had dinner with them here, so naturally I am going to like the show (so is my husband because he’s kissed her on the cheek a few times!). I hope the show gets picked up for another season. I’d like to see her do well.

The Living Room TV. This is a new show and I really want it to stick around! I am enjoying it. Baz and I chat a bit on email (he’s such a nice bloke), I have a crush on The Crazy Bull, Dr Chris makes me laugh on his adventures and Amanda Keller is a scream! It’s a casual show, but the projects are all achievable. My favourite segment is HOT OR NOT. I love it when the products they show don’t work or are totally ridiculous.

 …

Mrs Brown’s Boys. Naughty and funny. I has been known to make me snort. Especially last week’s episode when she was waxing her bikini line and had to keep fanning that area because she’d ripped skin off! My dog is named Winnie and so is her best friend, so their whole relationship makes me laugh!

Keeping up with the Jonses. I hope that comes back. My husband calls the kids “Little Milton” all the time! We loved that show.

 …

I don’t watch cooking shows. I don’t like to cook much so it all goes straight over my head. I encourage my husband to watch them though 😉

I don’t watch many sports shows (I am obviously not athletic).

I love a good infomercial. Especially the Ahh Bra (or the sloppy boob bra as I call them). I love the ab circle pro ads (there is a long story here that involves my husband and a purchase of one… haha!). All of the infomercial ads give me a great source of entertainment!

I can’t wait for BIG BROTHER. Yep, I’ll be tweeting the pants off that one.

There are lots more shows I love. I might come back and add to this post as I remember them.

Share with me your favourites? GO!

OMG Katrina I am right there with you, I LOVE tv!!!! I was so sad when I was working nights earlier in the year because I missed all of my favourite shows!
I LOVE The Block, Revenge, recently got hooked on Master chef, I loved the Voice Australia but hate any of the other singing shows in Aus (can’t get into the judges, except Mel B on the X Factor – I love her!). Im hooked on pay TV stuff too, LOVE the Kardashians, Pregnant in Heels, Kendra etc etc I could go on forever! lol Im hoping to love Lara’s show as well, tonight will be my first episode!

Katrina this post has made me laugh so much! I love infomercials too! I could watch teleshopping all day, it’s so strange!

I love cooking progs but then I love to cook 😉 I also love CSI but I am more of an NY girl (Gary Sinise, what a legend!)

I don’t watch The Voice, X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent or any other talent show because they just annoy my happiness. I used to like Big Brother when it first came on our screens over here (2000 I think) but it’s a circus now. There is a programme over here called Geordie Shore which is a real guilty pleasure, it’s basically 8 20-somethings being moronic but it is car-crash TV and we can’t tear our eyes away!

We also love our TV boxsets – we’ve just finished The West Wing (WOW!!!!!!!! Amazing programme!) and now onto The Sopranos.

Have a great day…. from one TV addict to another! 😉

Oh thank god I am not alone, I love TV! Anything and everything is what I will watch. I love American sitcoms, new and old stuff. I find it hard to sleep at night cause there is too much good stuff on. I am guilty too of buying the sunday paper pulling out the tv guide and dissecting what I will be watching and planning my nights accordingly, I know it is sooo baaad!! It’s kinda like that weird obsession that Georges dad had in Seinfeld with collecting the Tv guides. Love tv boxsets they are the best you just get so much more sucked into a show, recently watched seven seasons of Dexter back to back and I love that show so much. I often hear a lot of other mums say they don’t have time for tv and have had the guilts I’m doing something wrong but obviously I am not alone and it’s my reward after a busy day running after everyone else. Anyway the kids are in bed the housework is mostly done and I’m off…to watch tv of course.

I LOVE Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice & Gossip Girl. Can’t wait for the new episodes. It’s easier to just tape them all on Foxtel IQ and then go back and watch them without the ads! =)

I too feel the double-standard of not wanting my young daughter glued to the TV – like her mother. Seriously though, at least it’s not a computer game and there are far worse things in life. TV is my off-switch, and I love it.

Love my tv, and just like having it on when I get up so there’s always background noise. Drives hubby nuts. My favourite shows are Revenge, Grey’s, Private Practice, The Voice (US and Oz, although Christina is even more of a brat this year), Good Wife, and The Mentalist. I also love Today in the mornings 🙂
