See how lots of blogs have that little symbol (I’ve drawn a green arrow to it). Well that is the RSS button or SUBSCRIBE TO MY BLOG button. I wrote a post here the other day about the Google Friend Connect gadget being no longer available for wordpress blogs and this lead me to talk about the importance of a SUBSCRIBE button on your blog.
So, if you click that button you should always be taken to a screen that looks a lot like the one I have put here below…
I have 2 green arrows going to the sections you need to know about. The top one points to the NEWS READERS. Do you use one to gather all of your favourite blogs so you can see when/who have added a new blog post? If so, choose your reader and my blog will be added (there are lots of ‘readers’ out there).
If you don’t use a reader, then look at the bottom green arrow. This is a great option! Get the blog delivered straight to your inbox as soon as it has been updated.
There you go, now you can make sure you never miss a post on your favourite blogs.
Oh, and make sure you go over and subscribe to mine! 😉
Do you want a little tutorial on how to set-up the RSS on your own blog?

Trouble is I don’t use a reader (I like the way they appear on my dashboard!) and I hate getting them as emails so this has become a problem following wordpress! Fortunately because I have been following you for ages you still appear on my dashboard and of course Facebook. Alas some of us are just too, too old to keep up with all the changes sometimes we like things just the way we were!

I’d be interested to know how to make my RSS feed the entire post rather than a partial feed. WordPress confuses me!

I’d be very interested!
