House update: we have some weatherboard on!

Hello! How are you today? I have more house progress photos today. The posts will slow up now until after New Year as everyone takes a break. But I know it will be full steam ahead when all the tradies return around 14th January. Before I know it, I'll be packing to move in! Yippee! …

Hello! How are you today? I have more house progress photos today. The posts will slow up now until after New Year as everyone takes a break. But I know it will be full steam ahead when all the tradies return around 14th January. Before I know it, I’ll be packing to move in! Yippee!

Needless to say, this is another exciting day. I love it already. We have some weatherboards!  The builders are working today and tomorrow to get more of that cladding up so my husband and I can start painting it and the eaves after New Year’s Day. The eaves are a massive job on it’s own. My husband is a perfectionist so this should be fun (or not). This is why I didn’t do The Block with him… ha ha jokes darling (he’ll be reading this!).

And here is my exterior paint… well some of it. Taubmans calculated everything I would need and had it all delivered to us yesterday. I chose Colorbond’s Shale Grey to paint on the weatherboards. I love this colour. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. It was a massive job deciding. I knew I wanted grey, but I didn’t want it to throw too much blue. I would rather it throw a brown than a blue. Fingers crossed I got it right!

Remember this post? I had a decision to make about the pitch under here? Well this is what it turned out like. See the little LED light holes? I’m really happy with it! It will look great when it’s all finished.

The plumbing in the kitchen needed to be moved. Ooops! Sorry boys. I don’t know what happened really. I changed the kitchen layout and I didn’t tell the plumber, or the kitchen people didn’t or whatever, but it was going to look silly if my island bench was off-center. Anyway, I’m as happy as a pig in mud now that it’s all been fixed up. I wasn’t around when they were doing this. Luckily, because I would have felt bad watching them rip it up! Thanks Brad… Husband is delivering you beer today. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading about my house. Today I’m packing for our holiday to the beach. We’re off early tomorrow morning. My kids are pumped. I’m going to come back a fishing expert remember??

Catch ya! X

    Hi Katrina
I know you are on holidays but I really need to know what/how your builder will trim around your windows in your weatherboards!? We are renovating an older style home and there is no trim around the bronze anodized (nice) windows in the weatherboards. It looks even worse now we are painting. Thanks. X Leah

Hi Leah, it’s bordered with a piece of quad. It’s not too big. It’s not like architrave but rather a border. I can’t take photos when I return. X

    Hi Katrina,
Just wondering what type of weatherboards you used? I am looking at the Summit or Newport but so hard to imagine from a small sample! You house is just beautiful! x

Hi Katrina, I am not sure if you have already mentioned this and I have missed it, what sheen paint did you use? Also I LOVE your home!! It is beautiful and I am sure you are really enjoying it.
