House update: A little bit of everything

Morning! So, here is my house again this week… slowly but surely it’s coming along… I’ve been watching every day and something little keeps getting done. Maybe 4 weeks and it’s all ready!

The gutters and downpipes are going on – just the finials on the gables to go (and some more paint). They’ve cleared all of the front ready for the driveway to be concreted. Maybe that’s happening today or tomorrow. I need to keep an eye on it because the kids want me to write their names in the cement around the side of the house, so I’ll be ready and waiting for that today!

The back verandah has been boxed out ready for concrete. We’ll just do plain concrete for now – eventually we’ll pave over it.

The doors have been hung…

The wet sealer has been – tiler is due soon.

All the architraves are on the windows and doors inside the house.

Ummmm there is A LOT of cavity sliders in this house – I sort of didn’t realise how many I had!

I have been deciding on tap positions for the bathrooms. Think it’s sorted. All these decisions are HARD!

The kitchen is being painted as we speak (thanks Nathan Kelly from Auto Panel Smash Repairs!). So…. we had someone externally paint our kitchen. We’ve done this with all of our houses. My brother-in-law (Craig Chambers) owns a smash repair business, so we ask the kitchen people to supply the entire kitchen, bathroom vanities and laundry cupboards in it’s raw state – they deliver it to my brother-in-law’s business, we get it all painted there, then it gets delivered to the house ready to be installed. Saves us a tonne of money! That’s going in on Friday so I can’t wait for that. I hope it all looks ok! You choose these things months ago, so I sort of forget some of it. I have gone very plain in the kitchen – it’s not too fancy. I tire of things easily, so I wanted it to be simple. I can use accessories to jazz things up.

Have a great day! I’ll be back next week with kitchen photos I hope. Keep an eye on my Instagram though 🙂

Ooh. It’s really moving along now! So exciting. And I wish we had handy relatives who owned a smash repairs business. You’d have saved a motza. xx

Looking good. I too have a plain kitchen, just white because I know I would get sick of too much colour and this way I can change things to suit my mood without the expense. House is looking great. xT

That’s what I think – I can change it around with stuff, rather than lock myself in to permanent designs 🙂

Even if it didn’t save money, I’m sure having the paint done this way will result in a much better job.
Everything is looking good Katrina, you must be so excited. I love cavity sliders, they save so much space.

I got goosebumps at the kitchen description! I can’t wait to see it. Hasn’t The Block All Stars bathroom week been a ride! Bet your bathroom planning was nothing like it! Rosana xox
