This week has been an ordinary week. Ordinary is good sometimes. But not all the time…
I’m a do-er, action-girl. I like things to be happening. I like a good challenge.
My girlfreind and I have chatted all week about the world and our lives. She said she felt like a “hamster on a treadmill”. Yes! Me too! I have post-holiday blues. I’ve had so much going on lately that’s it’s hard to come back down to reality. I opened my computer on Monday morning and said “right, where is my next challenge?”
It’s Friday already and the week has flown. No ups and downs. Just the monotony of a normal week…. feed the kids, make the beds, do the washing.
How do I break that treadmill feeling? Well, I do know I’ll break it because I like to go out and get things, but for now I saw this video and loved it so much I had to share… that’s how I’m going to break the monotomy! Watch it, you’ll be inspired by something I’m sure.
Oh, and while my girlfriend and I chatted about all the problems going on in the world, I had a ‘moment’ where I thought I was THE crappiest mother ever. I’ll write about that tomorrow. We all have those moments in life where we believe we are just not good at anything…
Do you need to break the monotony sometimes? I read somewhere once that if you even just drive a different way to school/work for that day, it can break the cycle. I’m off to do just that!
Happy Friday!

We all have weeks like that (sometimes months ) I guess it’s like the good & bad in life you have to have one to fully appreciate the other.

Often feel like that…..I call it melancholy! Found your blog this week Katrina and you have inspired me all week!
Thank you
Deb
I liked that Katrina. I have had a week off after being away last week. I have not really achieved a thing. Spent most of the week in my own head, if that makes sense. I am off to finish a blog post, thanks for the nudge.

Hi Katrina. This mornings post came at the perfect time! I am definitely having a hampster morning. Nice to know I am not the only one on the treadmill! Thanks
Niki
Love it Katrina. I am happy to report I am doing a heap of those, except the resting, mmmm.
I think this has inspired me to take a weekend getaway from the family & rest, read, write & dream.

I’m trying to catch up! I’ve had two full days out of the house (did my tax today and now I definitely feel like the hamster on the treadmill…just another day makin’ another dollar…) there’s more to life than this, right? Please say yes!!!! I’m having a moment! Well a few of them lately…looking for a challenge too – always looking. I think I’ll study something as I am BORED BORED BORED…how could I be with ten children (8 still at home)??? Well I kind of need my brain stimulated. I need some brainfood or something…or a holiday! But that’s what happened. We got back from our road trip in June, then we got sick, and I am kinda stuck in this blue funk now 🙁 Bugger!
