This week’s Floor Plan Friday features a layout that strikes the perfect balance between open-plan living and private, tucked-away spaces. It’s ideal for busy families who want plenty of room to come together, but also need the option to spread out when life gets a little hectic. Here’s the walk-through.

Front-Facing Master Suite
Positioned at the front of the home, the master suite is a true retreat. It includes a generous bedroom, a large walk-in robe, and an ensuite with double vanity, oversized shower, and separate toilet. It’s zoned well away from the other bedrooms, offering privacy and peace.

Home Theatre and Office
Off the main entry you’ll find a cosy home theatre perfect for movie nights or quiet downtime. Just across the hall is a great-sized home office with views out to the garden, ideal for remote work, creative projects, or homework supervision.

Open-Plan Kitchen, Living and Dining
At the heart of the home is a spacious and light-filled living zone that brings everyone together. The kitchen features an oversized island bench and flows into the dining and main living area. It’s made for entertaining and everyday family life. Bonus points for the large walk-in pantry, which helps keep the main kitchen looking clean and calm.

Retreat Living Space
Behind the main living area is a second lounge room or retreat space, tucked away between Bedrooms 3 and 4. This flexible area could work as a playroom, teen hangout or quiet reading nook, depending on your family’s stage of life.

Zoned Secondary Bedrooms
Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 are all generous in size, each with built-in robes and easy access to a full bathroom, separate powder room, and the laundry. The layout is thoughtful, giving kids or guests their own space without feeling disconnected.

Laundry and Storage
A practical laundry with external access sits next to the bathroom, making washing easy to manage. There’s also a separate coat cupboard at the entry and a walk-in pantry off the kitchen for extra storage.

Outdoor Living
The covered alfresco area connects directly to the kitchen and main living zone, making it the perfect spot for year-round dining and relaxing.

Double Garage
With internal access and space for two cars, the garage also includes a convenient door to the walk-in pantry, making grocery drops easy.

What Do You Think?
This floor plan hits all the right notes when it comes to family-friendly design, offering both privacy and connectedness. I’d love to hear what you think. What do you like most about this layout? How would you make it work for your family?
