Daylight Saving? Yes or No?

I love the idea of it when it comes around in October. By this time I’m totally over the cold weather, and daylight saving means longer days and warmer weather.

Are you a Summer lover? Or a Winter lover?

I’m actually really looking forward to daylight saving ending in a few weeks. I’m tired of the kids not wanting to come inside until the sun is almost down. I’m tired of everyone going to bed so late. The last few weeks I’ve nocticed the sun going down much earlier and this has been nice. I feel like I’m getting my evenings back under control 🙂

But, it also means the sun isn’t coming up until later! I’m a morning person and this has thrown me the past few weeks. I normally like to get up around 5.30am-6am, but I’ve been waking well after 6.30am to pitch black darkness. This has thrown me big time. I like to do a lot of my work in the early hours of the morning, but I haven’t been. I’m not getting my blog posts up on time, my house is chaos and I’m dropping the kids to school in my pj’s!

How do you feel about daylight saving?

Yep I’m with you on that. Everyone seems out of sync. Boohoo for the cold weather to come though!

In WA we had a trial a couple of years back and to me it was silly. Some people loved it but in WA during summer the sun doesn’t set til late anyway so it wasn’t getting dark til like 8.30-9pm which throws everything out of whack. You’d be so tired because when you actually realised the time it was late, so you were eating later etc (which isn’t good for you either!) and still having to get up at the same early time. Then when it was ending, as you said it was horrible trying to get things done when it was dark as it killed any motivation. WA really gets enough sunlight as it is and I don’t think we need it.

I am with you. I hate Day light savings.
Now we are in QLD we don’t have it, but everyone carrys on that they want it up here.
If there is a vote for it, they wont be getting a yes from me.

I love daylight savings but I have to admit I’m not a fan of it being darker in the mornings. Normally when the alarm goes off I can leap out of bed, these past 2 weeks have been very difficult because it is still dark.

I don’t like day light savings, & I hate the fact that they keep it going for so long. I’m like you, a morning person & hubby is a tradie so we both dislike how dark it is at 6.30 in the morning.

I love daylight savings until now- for the same reason as you, it is too dark in the mornings!
