Definitely a space saver here. I like that the shower has the feature tile and the washing machine tucks in nicely. This may not work for a huge family though, but is great for a small space.

Put the washer/dryer behind closed doors so you don’t even know they are in there. This is a much nicer and streamlined look.

Under the bench is a good idea because then you still have plenty of folding space on top. This would be a cheap option too as there’s no custom cabinetry, just the bench on some brackets.

This is the one I did on The Block. It’s just before you walk into the main bathroom. Still love it!

All as one. The sink and washing area is seamless.

Another great small space idea. The colours are great too!

What do you think? Have you already got a laundry/bathroom combo?

Got 3!!!! 5 years ago when we renovated I decided that each bathroom was to have a laundry inc. We have a split level home with lots of stairs so I refused to carry washing up and down. Each level looks after themselves. Best decision ever! Would never go back to the old way!

Am I correct assuming you live in the northern hemisphere and rely on a dryer? I would love to have my laundry in the spacious upstairs bathroom but I can’t see lugging wet washing down stairs as an option.

Am looking at building a new house in Wahgunyah, not far from you Katrina, and am considering a Wal in butlers pantry with the front loader and sink in there. Are Darby and Joan now, so usually only do two or three loads a week now. What do u think?

These look great but I’ve been told that a laundry sink is also required. I can’t see these in your photos. A bathroom basin and kitchen sink are not allowed in place of the laundry sink. How do you get around this?

Hi I was wondering the same thing we are building new and although our bathroom laundry combo has been certified our plumber has told us we still need a laundry sink otherwise we will not get a occupation certificate there is no space to allow for this in the design so what can we do?

DM Stan, roughly how much more would I need to allow for taps and powerpoints? I’m trying to keep my laundry in a small bathroom to 6m deep behind doors running opposite the vanity, loo and shower run on the opposite side? Unrealistic?
