Building the Dream Home: The Journey Begins!

It’s finally happening – the new house build is officially underway! After months of planning, floor plan tweaks, and dealing with the usual council approvals, we’re ready to break ground on our dream home. I can’t wait to share this journey with you all, from the very first dig to the final styling touches.

The Vision

I’ve spent years renovating, styling, and helping others create beautiful, functional homes. Now, I get to apply all that experience to my own build, bringing together everything I love – cosy, welcoming spaces, thoughtful layouts, and a fresh, modern aesthetic. This isn’t just about building a house; it’s about creating a home that feels comfortable, stylish, and practical for everyday living.

The Process So Far

Right now, we’re in the pre-construction phase, sorting out the last bits of paperwork and coordinating with our builders. The site cut has been done, and we hope for the slab in the next couple fo weeks. While this part isn’t as exciting as picking tiles and tapware, it’s crucial to getting everything right from the start.

If you’ve ever built before, you’ll know that patience is key! There are always a few delays here and there (council approvals, bank paperwork, supplier lead times), but I’m embracing it as part of the process.

Brand Collaborations & Selections

One of the most exciting parts of this build is teaming up with some amazing brands to showcase high-quality, practical, and beautiful home products. I’ll be sharing all my selections for finishes, fixtures, and fittings over the coming months – so if you’re planning your own build or reno, there will be plenty of inspiration coming your way!
