Blogging from the airport #crohns

This morning I am blogging from the airport. Unfortunately I’ve had to make a dash to Melbourne to have little rest and an operation in hospital. I’m ok. But it’s just the best place for me to be. I have great doctor’s there. I’ll only be few days. It was hard to tell the kiddies. They know about my crohns but it’s hard to explain sometimes. My husband gets so emotional.

PLUS Happy Birthday to my long-suffering and adorable husband TODAY! Yep, I’ve had to miss his birthday again this year. Last year I was filming on The Block. It’s been a big 12 months.

There will be no tears. I never cry over crohns. It’s just my life and this is why I blog about it. It’s not always sunshine and roses. I’m not overly religious (although my kids go to a Catholic school haha!) but I believe ‘God brought me to it, so he’ll bring me through it.’ 🙂 I also made a commitment to Crohns and Colits Australia as an ambassador so I am sharing my journey with other sufferers…

I have my trusty new iPad so I’m still around! X

You’re amazing!!!!!!!!!! I live with health challenges too! At times they do get me down, but not for long. I just keep going, have to for the kids. Happy Birthday to your husband!!!! The kids will cope, it tears at the heart strings, but I’ve learnt these things are but a blink in time… ‘This too shall pass’ is my mantra and one day it will be a blur of a memory…(the times you had to be separated from them when it wasn’t the best timing etc…) My 2nd eldest is 22 now, but I missed his 7th birthday as I was interstate, I had a miscarriage while I was there and I couldn’t fly home for a few days. It broke my heart! We’ve had lots of birthdays since…I don’t think about it often, but it happened! You will get through this!!!! Good luck for your operation! Take care, and do rest up! xxxxxxxxx

I hope all goes well katrina. happy birthday to hubby! one of my sister’s close friends through school has crohns and we went through part of his journey closely with him through high school in particular. his health is much better now as an adult, perhaps more medication available now than when he was a kid. *enjoy* is the wrong word to use for your crohns posts, but I *appreciate* the insight into this condition when you tell us how things are going. and still, all so positively. you are such an inspiration. god bless for your little hospital stay x

Wishing you the best of luck Katrina. I loved watching you on the block and the fact you have brought IBD to the forefront. A few weeks ago my 16 year old son was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis after years of searching for answers. He has now started a drug regime and hopefully some remission. When he was diagnosed I immediately thought of you and how much you are achieving in your life and how you show life goes on.Thank you.
