Well this week we will be celebrating 10 years.
Wanna know how we got together?
I moved to this town straight out of University. I had a relative and a friend here, and knew no one else. I was offered a really good job at a newspaper and decided to go for it. I was young – just turned 21 and had never had a serious job before. Show me the money, I said. Not that it really paid that well in hindsight hahaha.
I lived with a friend of my mother’s for about 3 months and knew I had to find my own place. So my friend’s mother asked a girl she had worked with if she knew of anyone looking for a flatmate. She did actually – it was her brother-in-law. I didn’t really care who it was, I was just excited to be so carefree! So this guy knew I was coming around to check the place out. I knocked on the door and within 3 minutes I had a key and was able to move in the next day. Well we lived as flatmates for about 6 months. I hardly saw him. He did disappear for days on end, so I was rapt to have the run of the place!! I used to invite all my friends over and we would drink until 4am AND then work the next day….arrrggghhhhh.
Then one night after about 6 months my flatmate was home for one of our drinking sessions (remember I was only 21 so I was allowed to do these things!) and he ended up kissing a friend of mine. Over the next 3 weeks I started to get really annoyed at this. Why? I asked myself. Huh??? I think I must have been jealous. So being a silly young girl one night I asked if he wanted to come to the pub with me. He said yes.
I don’t really need to tell you the rest, but I stopped paying rent after that day 🙂
BUT, we were engaged 8 weeks later and married 6 months later!
The rest is history as they say…..
Here are some photos of our special day.

    Hi Katrina,

Congratulations to you both on your 10 year Anniversary. I hope you do something special! Wow, speedy courtship, some people fart around forever and date each other for years and years….I've never understood that. Either you're going to get married or your not. Why drag it out. Anyway, have a great day.
    Take care
