We are back from a quick trip to the beach. Was too quick! The boys (and my neice) enjoyed it so much. Wish we lived closer.

I have a love/hate relationship with paint!

Today I decided to start a few jobs that I’d been putting off. One being this wardrobe where the last people to paint didn’t sand anything back and just painted straight over stained and oiled timber. As you can see the paint is just scraping off. I could seriously flick it with my finger nail. 😱

Anyway… it got the better of me today and I’ve started the process.

Then I cut it down, painted it white, added some trim and made it work as a barn door. All up I think it cost $80 (not including the track).

If you can’t find a door to suit the size of your opening I highly recommend searching your Facebook Marketplace, a garage sale, clearance yard or seconds building supplies. 🚪

Well that didn’t go to plan…

My surgery got cancelled. I was meant to start at 1.30pm. But realised at about 5pm something wasn’t right. The patient before me ended up being a complex case and there was no end in sight. While I was overwhelmed at the thought of having to reschedule I knew it was out of my control. The man before me needed that care and I could wait. He obviously wasn’t doing well. So after not eating and doing the bowel prep the day before I was feeling absolutely tossed around. At 6.30pm my doctor came out and we chatted and the only thing to do was for me go home and we’d work out a new date soon.

I’m grateful I have the means and capacity to come back to Sydney at a later date. Mentally it’s a huge challenge to get ready for such a big surgery, but I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again.

Life hey?! I was keen to get this stoma fixed, but it wasn’t meant to be. Back to Wagga, back to work and life goes on for now.

I’m daydreaming already about a new house build and all the bits I want to have in it. We can dream right? No boring beige, and lots of fresh colours and textures. 🥰

Today I’m off to Sydney to get my stoma repaired👇🏻

If you’ve followed me for a while you’d know I have a colostomy bag. I’ve had it for 5 years now. And it needs a repair.

Follow my highlights to see where I’m up to. 🏥

But is it bad I’m looking forward to a little bit of stillness? I won’t stay down for long, you know me! And I’ll be laying in hospital for a week scheming all my new projects, but first, a few days rest will be good.

2023? Shit year. I’ve hated lots of it. Some good parts, but I’m hoping this last quarter will deliver some good stuff.
